1.4.2 Connecting to a PC (1) Make sure the player i s powered on; (2) Plug in the squarish conne ctor of the U SB cable to this player ’s USB DEVICE port; (3) Plug in the rectangula r connector of the USB cable to computer . In this way , you can manage content on the built-in HDD of the player on your local PC.
1.4.4 Connecting a Memory Card Memory card can be used by inserting to the ca rd slot (1) Follow the picture to insert the memory card to the card slot p roperly; (2) Insert the card by following t he arrow pointer in the picture. In this way , you can browse content s on the memory card.
1.4.5.2 A/V OUT (1) Follow the picture and plug in the 3 color conn ector to the player ’s A/V OUT jack; (2) Follow the picture and plug in the 3 color conn ector to the TV’ s A/V IN jack. In this way , you can enjoy the content in the player on TV or other display devices.

1.4.6 Connecting to an Digit al Amplifier (1) Follow the picture and p lug in the T oslink connector on your optical fiber cable to the player ’ s S/PDIF Optical jack. (2) Follow the picture and p lug in the other connect or on your optical fiber to the digit al audio device (digital amplifier or d ecoder).
1.4.8 Connecting to a WLAN (1) Make sure the player i s powered on; (2) Plug the Wireless LAN USB Adapter (i.e. F ANTEC Wi-Fi USB Dongle) to the USB HOST port of the player . 3. Setup Menu The Setup menu allows you to personalize and config ure the preferences for your player. To select a Setup option: - Select the Setup icon on the home screen, or press the SETUP bu tton on the remote control. - Use the LEFT / RIGHT navigational buttons to select a n option, and then press ENTER .
AUTO SCAN In AUTO SCAN mode, the system will automatically scan for available DVB-T T V channels. MANUAL SCAN In MANUAL SCAN mode, you can select the CH name , Bandwidth, and Input Frequ ency. Use the navigational and numerical buttons on the remo te control to select or input.
Channel Set - Select to edit channel information. In this menu, you can edit the Name, and se quen ce for the DVB-T TV channels. Use the navigational buttons to select and modify the settings, and press th e enter button to confirm. You can also press the “ blue ” button to select Sort.
3.3 Changing Video Settings Use this menu to configure video settings. Aspect Ratio - Pan Scan 4:3 : Display a wide picture on the entire scree n and cuts off the redundant portions. Select when a standard 4:3 TV is conne cted. - Letter Box 4:3 : Display a wide picture with two black borders on the top and bottom of 4:3 screen.
Video SYSTEM - Select to adjust video output resolution: NTSC / PAL / 480P / 576P / 720P 50HZ / 720P 60HZ / 1080I 50HZ / 1080I 60HZ / 1080P 50HZ / 108 0P 60HZ . 1080P 24 FPS - Choose this option to enable or disable 1080P 24 HZ support. A TV set with 1080P 24HZ (24P) mode is needed.
REC Device - Select to set device to restore the recorded files. Press the up / down button to select from HDD and USB. Press the enter button to confirm. 3.5 Changing Network Settings Use this menu to configure Ethernet and WL AN (Wireless Local Are a Network) settings.
- Get Connection Mode Choose between Infrastructure (AP) , Peer to Peer (Ad Hoc) and WPS (AP) . Press ENTER to go to next step, and press RETURN to cancel.
Input WEP / WP A Key Encryption keys can be inputted via the virtual keyboard. Press the navigational buttons to select, ENTER to input, CAPS to switch betwe en uppercase and lowercase, <- to delete a charac ter , -> to insert a space, shif t to make more symbols available, and OK to confirm.
Ad-Hoc Setup Press ENTER to go to next step, press RETURN to cancel, and press PLA Y to connect. Host Name - Choose the network name of the player . BitT orrent and SAMBA - T urn on/off BitT orrent an d Samba 3.6 Changing System Settings Use this menu to configure system settings.
T ext Encoding - Select to set the text encoding option (subtitle display). System Up date - Select Extension Package Upgr ade to update extension files for BT download and SAMBA services. - Select system upgrade to update the firmware via a USB stick.
ENGLISH 29 / 71 Parent al Control - Select to set the TV parental control options. A password will be needed for the m odifica tion. The default one is ‘0000’. Press the numerical buttons to input, and the enter button to confirm. Lock system Press the up / down button to turn on or off the parental system.
3.7 Miscellaneous Use this menu to adjust miscellaneous settings. Resume Play - Select to turn on / of f resume playback (auto-bookmarki ng) feature for movies. Slide Show Timing - Select to set the interval time for photo slide show . T ransition Effect - Select to set the transition ef fect for photo slide show .
4. DTV Menu In this menu, you can watch and record Digital T errestrial TV progra ms, or have the time shift function. T o enter the DVB-T TV mode, select the DTV icon on the main men u. The following are some functional button s on the remote control available when watching Digital TV programs.
There’re 4 strings displayed on the ba r . T aking the info bar in the above photo for example: N/A – S tands for TV rating; ENG – S tands for the voice language; SS – S tands for subtitle; TT – S tands for T eletext; 480 – S tands for resolution (SD - S tandard Definition, HD – High Definition).
Press the navigational and numeric buttons to view the content in the T eletext menu. Subtitle List Menu Press the subtitle button when watching DVB-T TV program s, the Subtitle List menu will be displayed. Press the up / down button to select the subtitle, and press the enter button to confirm.
This product allows you to watch othe r programs while recording is running. When recording i s running, press the ENTER button, you can get t he program list, then use UP/DOW N button to select the channel. Time Shif ting Time shift function allows you to stop live TV and resume the program from the point you left it.
6. Timer Record Menu The Timer Record menu allows you to create, edit and delete recording sche dules and view all schedule status and history. Select the TIMER RE C icon on the main menu to enter this menu. Create a New Schedule Press the left / right button on the remote control to select the Edit tab from the menu bar.
Edit Schedule Press the left / right button on the remote control to select the Edit tab from the menu bar. Select the schedule you want to edit from the list and press the enter button. The schedule setting screen appears. Modify the schedule as describ ed in ‘ Create a New Schedule ’.
Select Enable the selected schedule or Pause the selected schedule . Press the enter button to confirm. Vie w ing Rec ording History Press the left / right button on the remote control to select the History tab from the menu bar. Here you can view a complete history of all recording s that were set.
7. Browser Menu The browser menu allows you to browse and pl ay media files stored on Remov able Devices (USB, Card), HDD, Network, UPnP-server, and Playlist. To enter the menu, sel ect the Browser icon on the home scree n, or press the BROWSER button on the remote control.
7.2 Browsing Music In this mode, all folders and supported a udio files in current directory will be displayed. The following buttons can be used to co ntrol music playback. Button Function PLAY/PAUSE Begin/pause playback. FR / FF Fast rewind or fast forward.
ZOOM Zoom the image. INFO Hide or display the information bar during playback. STOP Stop playback. Y ou can view photos in slide show mode with background music. At first please start music playback and then go to your prefered pi cture fold er . When it is enabled, the slide sh ow start s automatically once you press PLA Y button.
7.5 Audio and Video St reaming via Network Y ou can stream the media f iles shared on the home network (Ethernet or WLAN). Please refer to ’ 3.4 Changing Network Settings ’ for details about network settings. There are two ways to locate media files shared on your local net work in the Netw ork menu.
7.5.2 Browsing though ‘My _Shortcuts’ You can also set ‘ Specific File Server IP ’ and access it from ‘ My_Shortcuts ’ in the menu. - Press the MENU button and a popu p menu appears. - Select Add to open a popup menu whe re you can input Label , Net User ID , Net Password , Domai n, Host Name , and Specific File Serv er IP .
7.6 A/V Streaming via UPnP-server A built-in UPnP (Universal Plug and Play ) client has been integrated on the system, which enables the player to auto-detect UPnP Media Servers on the network to browse and stream media files from them.
7.6.3 Stream ing Media on your Player - Connect your player to the home network (LA N or WLAN). - Visit Bro wse r - > UPnP menu on the player , select the UPnP-server , and press ENTER . - Then you can browse the media library sha red by Windows Media Player 1 1.
Note : • Make sure your player and your computer are on the same local area network an d subnet. • Firewalls may prevent your player to com m unicating with your computer . Please open the ports manuall y and add your player to the ‘trusted’ list, or disable the firewall tempora rily .
7.8.2 Browsing the playlist Press the UP / DOWN buttons to select Pla y List in the browser menu. Press the LEF T / RIGHT buttons to select between All , Music , Photos , and Movies . And press the ENTER button to confirm. Then you will enter the playlist.
8. File Copy Menu Select the File Copy icon from the home screen to enter the F ile Copy menu or press the Copy button on the remote control, wh ich allows you to copy files and folders between removable USB devices, Local HDD, and Network. The following buttons can be used unde r the file copy menu.
9. Media Library This is a powerful search engine. The media library menu allows you to search and browse multimedia files stored on the internal HDD. T o enter this menu, select the Media Library icon on the home screen. 9.1 Music library Use the left / right button on the remote control to select the Music tab.
Update Select to update and synchroni ze all the music stored on the internal HDD to the library. Search Select to sear ch for music files by their n ames. Use the navigational buttons to sele ct, and press the enter button to confirm. Select OK and press the enter button, and then the files you desired will be displayed on the screen.
Genre Select to list all the music files by genre. Press the up / down button to select the genre, and press the enter button to confirm. Album Select to list all the music files by album. Press the up / down button to select the album, and press the enter button to confirm.
9.2 Photo Library Use the left / right button on the remote control to select the Photos tab. Press the up / down button to select from Update, Se arch, All, and Date. And press the enter button to confirm. Update Select to update and synchronize all th e photos stored on the internal HDD to the library.
All Select to list all the photos in the library. Date Select to list all the photos by date. Press the up / down button to select the date, and press the enter button to confirm. Quick-Search You can also press the right button to turn on a Quick-Search bar while previewing photos in the library.
9.3 Movie Library Use the left / right button on the remote control to select the Movies tab. Press the up / down button to select from Update, Search, All, Actor, Genre, and Year. And press the enter button to confirm. Update Select to update and synchronize all th e movies stored on the internal HDD to the library.
All Select to list all the movies in the library. Actor Select to search for movies by actor. Press the up / down button to select the actor, and press the enter button to confirm. Genre Select to search for movies by genre. Press the up / down button to select the genre, and press the enter button to confirm.
Year Select to search for movies by year. Press the up / down button to select the year, and press the enter button to confirm. Quick-Search You can also press the right button to turn on a Quick-Search bar while previewing movies in the library.
10. Internet Radio This player integrates the SHOUT c ast fr ee Internet radio function. Select the Internet Radio icon on the main interface to enter this menu. Note : • Make sure the player is co nnected properly to a LAN or WLAN with Internet access, please refer to ‘ 3.
11. Downloads Select the P2P Share icon on the main menu. Y ou can s ee the status of torrent s download progress and configure the BT download setting s in this menu.
UP / DOWN Move cursor up / down. MENU press to adjust the priority of the downl oad task PAUSE Press to pause the download . PLAY Press to start download. STOP Press to stop the download. RETURN Return to the previous menu. BT setup Menu In the BT Setup menu, you can configure the followi ng settings.
12. NAS Function (samba) This player can be used as a NAS (Network-Atta ched Storage) device. It can be attache d to the home network via either Ethernet or WLAN. This feature allows homes to store and retrieve large amounts of data more affordably than e ver before.
