Introductio n 3 Introduction The Epson S tylus ® C68 printer is the ideal desktop printer for business and home use. With its exceptional speed and print resolutions, it is practical for everyday use, yet capable of delivering superior photo printing.
4 Loading Paper Loading Paper The type of paper you choose affects the way y our printout looks, so be sure to select the correct paper for y our job. I f you ar e just printing a rough draft, plain paper is fine. F or t he best results however , you ’ll want to use one of E pson ’ s special ink jet papers designed for your printer .
Loading P aper 5 3. Insert the paper , printable side up, agai nst the right edge guide. Then slide the left edge guide against the left edge of the paper (but not too tightly). Note: Y ou can load up to 1 0 0 sheets of plain paper and up to 20 shee ts of most types of photo paper .

Printing in Macintosh OS X 9 During printing, this w indow appears an d sho ws the progress of your print job. Y ou can use the buttons to cancel, pause, or resume printing. Y ou can also see how much ink you have left. Tip: You can also cancel printing by pressing the paper button on your printer.
10 Basic Printing 2. Select Stylus C68 in the F ormat for pop-up menu. 3. Sel ec t you r P ap er Siz e. For b ord er l es s printing, choose a paper size with the Sheet Feeder-B orderless option. 4. Select portrait or landscape as the orientation setting.
Printing in Macintosh OS X 11 Depending on your settings, you can choose these other options from the pop-up menu: ■ Copies & Pages : S elect the number of copies you want, or a page range. ■ Layout : Select page lay out options. ■ Output Options : S ave your p rint job as a PDF file.
12 Basic Printing 12. T o monitor the progr ess of your print job , click the printer icon when it appears in the dock on the bottom of your desktop . If you ’ re using OS X 10.2.x, click the Print Center icon instead, then double-click Stylus C68 in the P rinter List wi ndow .
Using Special Papers 13 Using Special Papers Y ou can use the following special Epson papers in your S tylus C68: Y ou can purchase genuine Epson ink and pa per from an authorized E p son reseller . T o find the nearest reseller , plea se call 800-GO-EPSON (800-463-77 66).

Printing Photos in Macintosh OS X 21 Customizing Your Photo Settings 1. Click Advanced . 2. Select these settings as necessary: Note: When you select Photo RPM for the highest print quality, printing will take longer.
22 Printing Photos 4. If necessary , ad just the Expansion slider to choose Min , Max , or the in-between setting. Min is the least amount of image expans ion, but there may be a small white edge on the borders of the print. Max expands the image to ensure that there are no unprinted edges, but the edges of the image may not appear in the print.
Replacing Ink Cartridges 23 Replacing Ink Cartridges When the red ink light flashes, one or more ink cartridges are low on ink. When the red ink light stays on, you need to replace the cartridge(s). When you print , you ’ll also see a mess age on yo ur scree n tell ing you w hich cartridge is low or empty .
24 Replacing In k Cartridge s Ink Cartridge Precautions Warning: Keep ink cartridges out of the reach of children, and don’t drink the ink. If ink gets on your hands, wash them thoroughl y with soap and water. If ink gets in your eyes, flush them immediately with water.
Removing and Installing Ink Cartridges 25 The ink cartridge holder moves to the left, and the cart ridge that needs to be replaced stops under the ink out mark. The power light begins to flash. Caution: To avoid damaging the printer, never move the print head by hand.
26 Replacing In k Cartridge s 4. Open the cartridge cov er . Squeeze the back tab of the empty cartridge as you lift it out of the printer . Don ’ t take the used cartridge apart or tr y to refill it. Warning: If ink gets on your hands, w ash them thoroughly with soap and water .
Removing and Installing Ink Cartridges 27 6. Lower it into the holder . P ush down gently until the cartridge is firmly seated. 7. If you need to replace other ink cartridges, repeat steps 5 and 6 before continuing with step 8. 8. Close the cartridge co ver .
28 Replacing In k Cartridge s The green po wer light flashes and the printer makes noise. Charging takes about half a minute. When it’ s finished, the green power light stops flashing and stays on, and the r ed light goes out.
29 Solving Problems If you have a pr oblem with your E pson St ylus C68, check the printer ’ s lights (as described below) to diagnose what may be causing it. Y ou can also tr y “P roblems and S olutions ” on page 30 for basic troubleshooting suggestions, or see your on-screen User’s Guide for more detailed help .

Click Start or Next . Cleaning takes several seconds. The pr inter runs a head cleaning cycle and the power light flashes.
32 Solving Problems ■ If paper jams, press the paper but ton for several seconds to clear the jam. If that doesn ’ t work, open the cover and pull the paper out from the front, including small pieces that may have torn off. Reload the paper and press the paper button.
