6 HO T HUMID WEA THER • Heavy protective clothing can increase operator fatigue which may lead to heat stroke. Schedule heavy work for early morning, or late afternoon hours when temperatures are cooler.
7 SP ARK ARREST OR MUFFLER • The spark arrestor muffler controls the exhaust noise and prevents hot, glowing particles of carbon from leaving the muffler.

10 OPERA TION WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD • Fill the fuel tank with fuel. • Fill the chain oil tank with lubricant. • Press hand guard forward. (Chain brake ACTIVATED position) • T ur n ignition switch upside . (“R UN” position) • Pull choke control knob all the w a y out.
11 R UNNING • When engine star ts, keep idling f or a f ew minutes . • Pull throttle trigger gradually and increase rev olution of the engine. • The chain star ts r unning when the engine reaches to 3,800 r/min approximately . • Confirm proper acceleration and lubr ication of chain and bar .

13 FALLING THE TREE A falling tree can seriously damage an ything it ma y hit - a car , a house, a f ence , a po w er line , or another tree. There are wa ys to make a tree f all where you want it, so first decide where that is! Before cutting, clear the area around the tree .
14 CA UTION Wear suitable hearing protective device such as earmuffs or earplugs to protect against objectionable or uncomfortable loud noises. Don’t cut with the saw o v erhead or the bar in a vertical position. If the saw should kic k bac k, y o u ma y not ha v e well enough control to pre v ent possible injur y .
15 CHAIN BRAKE OPERA TION • Set the lev er in the released position before star ting to cut. • If the brake is tripped b y kic k bac k reaction, the chain will stop immediately release the throttle to av oid possib le damage pre v ent to the engine or clutch.
16 END OF THE GUIDE BAR may be placed at the height of about 35 cm. 35 cm A UT OMA TIC CHAIN BRAKE The automatic chain brake stops the operation of the saw chain in such a manner that kick-back action produced at the end of the guide bar automatically actuates the chain brake.
17 MAINTENANCE AND CARE CARBURETT OR ADJUSTMENT Every unit is run at the factory and the carburettor is set in compliance with California Emission Regulations. In addition, the carburettor is equipped with “H” (High Speed Needle) and “L” (Low Speed Needle) needle adjustment limited that prevent settings outside acceptable limits.

19 FUEL STRAINER • Check periodically . • Do not allow dust to enter fuel tank. • Clogged strainer will cause difficulty in star ting engine or abnor malities in engine performance. • Pull the fuel strainer out through fuel inlet por t with a piece of steel wire or the like .
20 SETTING THE SA W CHAIN SPROCKET • The damaged sprock et will cause premature damage or wear of saw chain. - When the sprock et has worn out 0.5 mm (0.020 in) or more, replace it. • Check sproc k et when you install ne w chain. Replace it if wor n.
21 SETTING SA W CHAIN • For setting sa w chain, round file (4 mm dia. 5/32 inch) and flat file are used. • T o keep correct position and correct angle, use the file holder (Sure Shar p). - Round file (P-No . 897510-03931) and flat file (P-No . 897511-00230) are optional.
