6 BUI LDI NG INST RUCTI ONS Before st arting to build t his kit, we urg e y ou to read through these instructions. They cont ain some import ant building sequences as w ell as instructions and w arnings con- cerning the assembl y and use of the model.
7 It is easier to do some of the w ork on the wing and fuselage before y ou glue them together. Locate the tem- plate at the rear of the book for locating the landing gear and cut it out with scissors. Place it o v er the fuselage and drill 1/8” holes at the location of the mounting holes.
8 measure back fr om t he opening 1- 3/8” and cut a slot 1/8” wide cen- tered on the mark y ou made. we are now ready to mount the wing on the fuselage. Slide the wing back in the fuse, almost to the wing joint. Coat t he bare balsa at the joint with 30 minute z po xy and slide the wing in t he rest of the w a y .
9 Inst all t he gear on the fuselage using the tw o 3mmx30mm bolts, four 3mm flat w asher, and tw o 3mm lock nuts. Locate the ele v ator joiner wire and the tw o elev ator hal v es. Measure the width of the s t ab and la y the ele v a- tors spread to that length.
10 Glue the joiner wire in place with epo xy . Make sure the ele v ators are l ying on a flat surf ace so both will be par allel. Use a str aight edge to make sure the leading edge is str aight and the tips are at t he prop- er width. Fit the elev ators in place on the CA hinges.
11 A t t he location of the elev ator wire make a notch appr o ximat el y 3/1 6” deep and 3/8” wide to clear the ele- v ator wire. A t t he location of the tiller arm drill a 3/32” hole and slot the leading edge of the rudder to accept t he t ail wheel wire.
12 Align the aileron control horn Using the line y ou dre w earlier for the pushrod slot. Mark the location of the holes and drill tw o 5/64” holes. Inst all t he horn with two 2mmx20mm screws and the ny lon plate on top. Locate one of the 2mm pushrods with clevis.
13 The battery will mount on the left side. Wrap with foam rubber(not sho wn for clarity) and insert into opening. The receiver will mount on the right side in the opening ne xt to the serv o. Wrap with foam rubber(not sho wn). Route the antenna under the pushrod and exit from a hole close to the side of the fuselage.
14 It will be necessar y to cut the back side out of the n ylon co ver for the wires to fit in. Using a sharp knife, cut 1/1 6” inside the edge of the co v er. Make sure y ou are cutting the back side, it fits on the right side of the plane. The wires can then be fit- ted inside by st aggering the plugs.
15 Align the elev ator horn on t he inside edge of the elev ator and mount using the tw o #2x1” screws and ny lon plate. Locate the two 2mm pushr ods with clevis and inst all the silicone k eeper on clevis. Hook cle vis to horn and mark where it meets the serv o arm.
16 . If y ou use a mini serv o t hese will not be used. If y ou use a st andard serv o y ou will need them to clear the ser v o. Assemble the t ank cap wit h the big w asher, the rubber stopper, and the little w asher in t he rear. F or a two line system we will onl y use the long piece of aluminum tube and one short one.
17 Mount the throttle ser v o using t he hardw are supplied wit h the r adio. Use the1 .5 mm x 6”pushrod and bend a z bend in one end and att ach to the throttle arm on motor. A tt ach the e- z connector to a three hole serv o arm and att ach to ser vo.
18 The CG should be between 4-3/4” and 5-1/4” for first flight. F or 3-D it can be mo v ed back after y ou are comfort- able with the plane. Ha ve fun! A A d d d d i i t t i i o o n n a a l l E E .

22 EX-TREME 330 3-D ARF The Elevator This maneuver has your plane drop vertically in a nose high attitude, depending on wind conditions any where from a 45 degree angle in low wind to almost backwards in higher wind conditions.
23 EX-TREME 330 3-D ARF The Waterfall This maneuver has your plane fl ipping around the axis of the wing, while dropping. Starting from a high altitude, go to low throttle and gradua lly pull the nose up to near vertical. Just when the plane is about the stall, give it full down elevator and full power.
