The hotplate has one lar ge high speed burner , two normal simmering burners and one small simmering burner which will accommodate pans between 100mm (4”) and 200mm (8”) diameter .

Grilling can be star ted from cold but f or best results preheat f or approximately tw o minutes. Most cooking is done with the heat on full, but it may be necessary af ter sealing the food to r educe the heat as required . F or au gratin dishes eg . Macaroni Cheese and meringue toppings eg.
The ov en has different hea t zones – the thermostat settings ref er to the t emperature on the middle shelf position; abov e this shelf it is hotter and below it is cooler . T wo shelves enable full use of the temper atures inside the ov en. Each shelf has a safety stop to pr event if from being pulled ou t too far when attending to food .
C OLD ST ART C OOKING Anything r equiring long slow cook ing such as casseroles and ric h fruit cakes can be put into a cold o ven. Satisfactor y results can also be obtained with creamed mixture, rich pastries or yeast mixtures, but f or per fection we recommen d preheating the ov en for about 15 minutes .
The follo wing times and setting are for guidance only . Y ou may wish to alt er the setting to give a result more to y our satisfaction. When a different setting to t hat sho wn below is given in a recipe , the recipe instructions should be followed .
13 O VEN C OOKING CHART When baking with two trays or tins on two lev els, the top tr ay is remov ed first and the lower tr ay mov ed up to the top position for a f ew minutes longe r. Sof t Margarine – Use the o ven settings recommended b y the margarine manufacturer and not those indicated on the cooking char t.
The ‘Slow C ook ’ setting on the oven thermostat is used f or slow cooking, keeping food warm and warming plates f or shor t periods. USING THE ‘SL OW C OOK’ SET TING FOR SL OW C OOKING 1. All dishes cooked by the ‘Slow C ook ’ setting should be cooked for a minimum 6 hours.
Clean the cook er regularly and wipe up spills soon af ter the y occur to prev ent them from bec oming burnt on. Nev er use biological washi ng powder , c austic cleaners, harsh abr asives , scouring pads , aeros ol cleaners or ov en chemical cleaners of any kind .

Cloth wrung out in warm soapy wat er . Stubborn stains can be remov ed with a cream paste , liquid cleaner or by rubbing with fine steel w ool soap pads.

SP ACE FOR FIXING The cooker can be close fitted below hotpla te level. This requir es a minimum distance of 503mm between cupboard units of hotpla te height. When installing next to a tall cupboard , par tition or wall, for a minimum distanc e of 400mm abov e hotplate level, allow a side clear ance of at least 65mm.
