3 INTRODUCTION To help you make the best use of your cooker, PLEASE READ THIS BOOKLET CAREFULLY. Your new cooker is guaranteed and will give lasting service. The guarantee is only applicable if the cooker has been installed in accordance with the Installation Instructions.
4 FOR YOUR SAFETY Please read the precautions below before using your cooker. AL WAY S . . . ALWAY S make sure you understand the controls before using the cooker. ALWAY S check that all controls on the cooker a re turned off after use. ALWAY S stand back w hen opening an oven door to allow heat to disperse.
5 FOR YOUR SAFETY NEVER . . . N EV ER leave children unsupervised w here the cooker is installed as all surfaces will get hot during and after use. N EV ER allow anyone to sit or stand on any part of the cooker. N EV ER store items that children may attempt to reach above the cooker.
6 OVEN TIMER OPERATION The oven timer offers you the following features: 1. T ime of Day 2. Automatic Cooking 3. Minute Minder AUTOMATIC COOKING The main oven can be controlled automatically. GUIDANCE ON AUTOMATIC COOKING 1. Select foods which will take the same tim e to cook.
7 OVEN TIMER OPERATION A U T O 00 0 . CLOCKFACE The timer i ncorporates a 24 hour clock. Ensure the correct time of day is always set, before using your cooker. SYMBOLS A 'bell' sym bol will light up w hen you select a M inute Minder Period and will remain lit for the period set.

9 AUTO COOKING PROGRAMMES There ar e two Auto Cooking programmes t hat can be selected usi ng your t imer:- ( a ) To set the timer to switch the oven(s) On and Off Automatically ( b ) To set timer to switch on immediately and OFF automatically after a set cook period.
10 Note 1 W hen cooking automatically the Cook Period can be checked at any time by simply pressing the Cook Period button. Note 2 W hen cooking automatically the End Time can be checked at any time by simply pressing the End Time button.
11 TO CANCEL AN AUTO COOKING PROGRAMME BEFORE THE COOK PERIOD HAS FINISHED. Step 1 Turn the oven control to the O FF positi on. Step 2 Press the M anual button to return the oven to "Manual" operation. The 'Auto' sym - bo l w ill go out.
12 HOTPLATE The hotplat e lid is fi tted with a safet y device which cuts off t he gas supply to the hot plate burners unl ess the li d is f ully open.
13 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS F OR DEEP FAT FRYING 1. Ne ver fill ch ip p ans m ore t han one third ful l with oil or fat. 2. Never leave oil or fat unattended during the heating or cooling period. 3. Never heat fat or fr y wit h a li d on the pan. 4. Always dry food thoroughl y before fryi ng, and lower it slowly into the hot oil or fat.
14 GRILL A B C CAUTION - ACCESSIBLE PARTS MAY BECOME HOT WHEN THE GRILL IS USED. YOUNG CHILDREN SHOULD BE KEPT AWAY. The grill is fitted with a safety device t hat w ill cut off the gas supply to the bu rner if the flame is extinguished for any reason.
15 TO USE THE GRILL 1. Ope n th e top oven /grill door and re move th e g rill p an. 2. Remove the heat shield from the rear of the shelf for maximum grill ing area and place the shelf in appropriate position - (C hesterfie ld on ly). 3. Push in and t urn the control knob clockwi se to the large flame symbol.
16 The main oven is fitted w it h a safety device that re-l ights the burner if t he flame has been extingui shed for any reason and another saf ety device that reduces the gas f low to a safe level if, for any reason, the burner f ails t o ligh t.
17 COLD START COOKING Anything requir ing long slow cooking such as casseroles and rich fruit cakes can be p ut into a cold oven. Satisf actory results can also be obtained with creamed m ixt ure, rich pastries or yeast mixtures, but for perfect ion we recom mend pr eheating t he oven for about 15 minutes at the gas mark you requi re for cooking.

19 MAIN OVEN COOKING CHART When baking with two trays or tins on two l evels, the top tray i s removed first and the lower t ray moved up to the t op position for a few minut es longer. Soft Margarine - U se the oven settings recomm ended by the m argari ne m anufact urer and not those indicat ed on the cooking chart.
20 THE SLOW COOK SETTING The ' S low C ook' setting on the main oven thermostat i s used for slow cooking, keeping food warm and w arming plates for short periods. USING THE 'SLOW COOK' SE TTING FOR SLOW COOKING 1. All dishes cooked by the ' Slow Cook' sett ing should be cooked for a minimum 6 hours.
21 The t op oven can be used to cook small quantit ies of food or used i n conjuncti on with the main oven to provide additi onal cooking space. The top oven is fit ted with a safety device that w ill cu t off th e g as s upp ly to the bu rner if the flam e is extingui shed for any reason.

24 ! Never use steam cleaners or pressure cleaners on the appliance. ! Clean the gl ass part of the oven door using a sponge and a non-abrasive cleaning product, then dry thoroughly with a sof t clot h. Do not use rough abrasive m ater ial or sharp m etal scrapers as these could scrat ch the surface and cause the glass to crack.

26 SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOUR COOKER Before contacting your nearest Service Centre/Installer, check the problem guide below; there may be nothing wrong with your cooker. 28 Prior to installation, ensure that the local distributi on conditions (nature of the gas and gas pressure) and the adjustment conditions are compatible . The adjustment conditions for this appliance ar e stated on the data badge which is fitted on the back panel.

30 I N STALLA TI O N I N STRU CTION S SPACE FO R FIXI NG The cooker can be close fitted below hotplate le vel. This requires a minimum d istance of 600mm between cupboard units of hotplate height.
31 I N STALLA TI O N I N STRU CTION S UNPACKI NG THE COOKER Unpack the components from inside the grill and oven. Check that the follow ing parts are present: Grill pan and grid Top o ven/grill s helf.
32 I N STALLA TI O N I N STRU CTION S STAB I LITY CHA I N A hole in the gas inlet valve bracket can be used to engag e a stability chain. CONNECTI NG TO GAS SUPPLY 300 670 Connection to the cooker should be made with an approved appli ance flexible connection to BS 669.
33 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION WA RNIN G - THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EART HED. CONNECT TO A 2 3 0-24 0V A.C. SUPPLY ONLY. Connection to the electrici ty supply should be made via a properly earthed, readily accessible wall socket which is adjacent to but not directl y above, and not more than 1.
34 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS INSTALLATION AND OPERATIONAL CHECKS After instal lation, check for gas soundness. The supply pressure can be checked at the front left hotplat e burner inj ector. Fit t he hotplat e burner bodies and caps, pan supports and shelf shiel d(s).
