5 Installing Y our A VC-2000 Installing Y our A VC-2000 T o install your A VC-200 0 adapter: 1 Discharge any static electricity build-up before handling the A VC-2000 adapter by touching a grounded metal object (such as the exposed metal parts on the back of your computer).

Follow the complete set of installation instructions provided for your operating system to ensur e that the driver is pr operly installed: ■ For W indows XP , see page 9 .

11 Installing the Drivers Double-Checking Driver Installation T o verify that the driver is installed, right-click the My Computer desktop icon, select Properties , click the Hardware tab, then click the Device Manager button. Check that Adaptec A VC-2000 PCI Device appe ars, as sho wn in the figure below .
