NOTE : Before first use, remove any labels or stickers on the body or sole- plate of the iron. On first use only , iron over an old cotton cloth for 2 min- utes using steps 1 thru 5 below on set- ting 5 or above with the Steam Button in the "Up" position to remove any pro- tective surface treatments.

STEAM IRONING Be sure there is water in the reservoir . T urn the T emperature Selector between settings 5 and 7. Unlatch the Steam Button to the "Up" position. If steam doesn't start, gently bump the soleplate on the ironing board a few times.
CLEANING Move the T emperature Selector to OFF , unplug the iron and allow the iron to cool completely . Wipe the soleplate and outer surfaces with a soft cloth or sponge dampened in water . Never use abrasives, heavy duty cleansers, or scouring pads that may scratch or discolor the iron.
