6 Chapter 3 Configure your comput er 3.1 TCP/IP Address Setting Default IP A ddress: 192.1 68.1.1 Default Subnet Ma sk: 255.2 55.255.0 1. Click Start Control P anel 2. Click Network and Internet Connections Network Co nnections. 3. Right click Local Area Connection an d select Properties .

8 Chapter 4 Configure your ZEW3 003 4.1 Log in ZEW3003 provides Web based conf igurati on scheme configuri ng by Internet Expl orer. 1. Open an Internet Explorer, ty pe 192.1 68.1.1 in the add ress bar, and then p ress Enter . 2. Input user n ame and password and then pr ess OK .
9 4.2 Status Status page allows you to monitor the current status of ZEW3003 and view the statistics of pack ets sent and recei ved on LAN a nd WLAN. 4.
10 4.3 LAN Setup 4.3.1 LAN Setup System IP address: ZEW3 003’ s LAN IP address (not y our PC’ s IP address). O nce you modify the IP a ddress, y ou need to remember it for the W eb -based Ut ility l ogin next time. Default v alue is 192.1 68.1.
11 4.4 Radio Radio pag e contains fiv e modes, includi ng AP , Client, WDS , AP+WDS and Rep eater. Here are some basi c setting s: Radio Band: Select from 8 02.11b , 802.11g, 802.1 1b/g Radio M ode: Select from AP , Cli ent, WDS, AP+WDS and R epeate r .
12 4.4.1 AP IAPP : Enable it to allow wireless station roaming between IAPP enabled access points wi thin the same wireless LAN. In AP mode, ZEW3003 will act as a central hub for different wireless LAN clients.
13 4.4.2 Client SSID : Default v alue is default . Network Type : Select fr om Infr astructure and Ad-Hoc. Defa ult setti ng is Infrastructure . In Client mode, ZEW3003 associates with another AP within its r ange. The device behav es lik e a wireless network adapter .
14 4.4.3 WDS In WDS mode, two ZEW3003 in two remote locations connect with each other to provi de a w irel ess bridge between 2 wired netw orks. The two ZEW3003 o perati ng i n WDS mode do not allow client as sociations. It is mostly used by enterprise to connect 2 remote office’ s netw ork together .
15 4.4.4 AP+WDS In AP+ WDS mode, ZEW3003 will work both i n AP mode a nd WDS mode. It supports the wireless bri dge between the two wired networks; the connection of wireless network is also supported at the s ame time. The part of AP's encry ption in accordance with the encrypti on of AP mode.
16 4.4.5 Repeater Repeater-SS ID: The nam e for your repeater . IAPP : Enable it to allow wireless station roaming between IAPP enabled access points wi thin the same wireless LAN. A repeat er i s placed between an AP and a client to e xtend the distance between the two WLAN devi ces.
17 4.5 Security Security page contains eigh t Authentication T ypes, including None , WEP , WPA SOHO USER, WP A2 SOHO USER, and WP A&WP A2 SOHO USER. 4.5.1 None Default setting is None . 4.5.2 WEP WEP (Wired E quivalent Privacy) is an encr yption method used to protect your wireless data communi cations.
18 Key1, 2, 3, 4: Input WEP key characters here, the number of ch ar acters must be the same as the number display ed at W EP Mode. Y ou must enter at least one encrypti on key here, and if you entered multiple WEP keys, they sh ould not be same with each other .
19 4.5.4 WPA Personal Wi-Fi Protected Acces s (WPA) is an adv anced security s tandard. It uses TKIP an d AES to change the encryp tion key frequ ently. Accessoria l Authentica tion & Encryption: Defaul t setti ng is TKIP . Key: Enter the key w hich mu st have 8 -63 ASCII chara cters.
20 4.5.6 WPA2 Personal WPA2 i s a stronger version of WPA. Accessoria l Authentica tion & Encryption: Defaul t setti ng is AES. Key: Enter the key w hich mu st have 8 -63 ASCII chara cters. 4.5.7 WPA2 Enterprise This securi ty mode is used when a RADIUS serv er is connected to ZEW3003 .
21 4.5.8 WPA&WPA2 Personal Pre-Shared Key: For WPA, default setting is TKIP; for WP A2, default se tting is AES. Key: Enter the key w hich mu st have 8 -63 ASCII chara cters. 4.5.9 WPA&WPA2 Enterprise This securi ty mode is used when a RADIUS serv er is connected to ZEW3003 .
22 4.6 WDS Wireless Distributi on System uses wirel ess media to co mmunicate wit h other access points, like the Ethernet does. T o do this, you mus t set these access points i n the same channel and set the MAC address of other access poi nts you want to communi cate with in the tabl e.
23 4.8 Site Survey Site Survey page provides tool to scan the wir eless network. If any A ccess Poin t or IBS S is found, y ou could choose to connect it manuall y when client mode is enabled. 4.9 Client Info Y ou can see the statu s of all activ e wireless stati ons connecti ng to ZEW3003.
24 4.10 Advanced Frag Threshold: Specify the maxim um s ize of packet during the fr ag mentation of data to be t ra nsmitted. Default v al ue is 2346 . RTS Threshold: When the pack et si ze i s small er the RT S threshold, ZEW30 03 will not use the R T S/CTS mechani sm to send this pack et.

27 Chapter 5. Troublesh ooting Q1: If you have t rouble connecting to the Inter net, try the foll owing steps. 1. Power of f the Cable/DSL modem , ZEW3003 , and comput er and wait for 5 mi nutes. 2. Turn on the Cable/DSL modem an d wait for the light s on to settle d own.
