6 Final Adjustments Auger C ontrol Adjust ment Check the ad justm ent of the auger control as follows: • Push for ward on the aug er con trol un til the smal l rubber bumpe r cont acts the uppe r handle. T here should be s lack in the cable . See Figure 5.
7 • Rech eck the adju stmen t and repe at adjustme nt as necessar y. • Retighten the jam nut to secure the cable when corre ct adjustm ent is reac hed. If you are unc ertain tha t you hav e reached the corre ct adjustme nt, refer to Tr action Control Ad justm ent in Adju stment Secti on.
8 Electric C hute-Rotation Switc h The ele ctr ic chute-rotati on switch is locate d on the lef t side of t he snow thrower dash pane l. See Figur e 7. To chan ge the dir ection i n whic h disc harged s now is thr own, proc eed as fo llo ws: • Push th e toggle s witch to the lef t to ro tate the ch ute count ercloc kwise.
9 SECTION 4: OPERATING YOUR SNOW THROWER Before Starting WARNING: Read, understand, and follow all instructions and warnings on th e machine and in this manual before operating. Gas And Oil Fill-up Service the engine with ga soline and oil as instruc ted in the separate engine ma nual pack ed with your snow thrower.
10 Electric Starter: • Conne ct power co rd to s witch box on engine , then to 120 volt AC recept acle. With the engin e running, push starter button an d spin th e starter for se veral seconds . The un usual sou nd made by spi nning the starter will not har m engine or starter.
11 • Tip the snow th rower for ward, allo wing it to res t on the auger ho using . • Remove the f rame c over u nderneath the snow thrower by r emovi ng the six s elf-tappi ng screw s. • With the tr action co ntrol released, ther e must be cleara nce between th e friction wheel and the drive plate in all position s of the shi ft leve r.

There is a gr ease fitting on th e top of the ax le shaf t which driv es the rear track driv e wheels on both sides of the unit.
13 Shave Plat e and Skid Sh oes The shave pl ate and ski d shoes on the bottom of the sno w thro wer ar e su bject to w ear. They should be checke d perio dica lly and replace d when n ecessar y.
14 Fig ure 15 Servicing Friction Wheel Rubber The rubber on the friction wh eel is subj ect to wear an d should be c hecked aft er 25 hou rs of operatio n, and periodica lly the reafte r. Replac e the fricti on wheel rubber if any signs of wear or crack ing are found .
15 WARNING: Drain fuel into an approv ed container outdoors, away fr om an open flame. Allow engine to cool. Extinguish cigarettes, cigars, pipes, a nd other sources of ignition prior to dra ining fuel. Fuel left in e ngine for extended pe riods dete rio rates and will ca use start ing problems.
