OPERATION Power On And Self-Test Each time your Whistler detector is turned on, an auto- matic self-test sequence confirms that the speaker and visual displays are functional. • Press (Power) or apply Power. Display reads: Self-test Mute Simply press the Quite/Record button during the self-test sequence to cancel the self-test audio.

OPERATION OPERATION Option Select Mode Entering Option Select Mode allows you to turn on or off VG-2 detection or Voice alerts. Note: The unit must not be alarming. T o turn VG-2 detection on/off: Press and hold the Quiet button until the unit provides a unique beep then release the Quiet button.
Memo Mode Record up to 3 distinct message tracks for a total of 45 seconds, one 45 second message or any combination in between. IMPOR T ANT : Unit does not detect radar or laser signals during recording or while playing a memo. W ARNING!!! Memo mode is not intended to be used while you are driving.

CARE & MAINTENANCE Care And Maintenance During the summer months, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight by removing your unit from the dash when your vehicle is parked for an extended period of time. Do not spray water, cleaners or polishes directly onto the unit.
ARE DETECTORS LEGAL? In Most States YES! Laser detectors are completely legal in every state when used in automobiles or light trucks (under 10,000 lbs.). Similarly, when used in automobiles or light trucks, radar detectors are legal in almost every state.
SPEED MONITORING TECHNOLOGIES Other Speed Detection Systems Several techniques other than radar or laser are used to measure vehicle speeds.
