Op erat ion Gener al The Flash W ater Heater is an instantaneous, tankless water heater designed to efficiently supply domestic or comm e rcial hot water.
The flow rate thro ugh the T-K2 is limited to a maximum of 6.9 GPM. The temperature set t in g, al on g wit h t he su pp l y tem p erat u re o f the water wil l determine t he fl ow rate the unit puts out. Consul t the flow charts on the l ast page of this m anual to det ermine the possi ble outlet temperature and flow rate combinations.
Installation Gener al All gas water heaters require careful and corre ct installation to ens ure safe and efficient operation. This m anual must be followed exactly. 1. Read t he F or Your Saf ety section in the beginning of thi s manual. 2. This unit is not capable of being used as a pool or spa heater.

Gas Sup ply Pipi ng Check the rating plate to make sure that the uni t was bui l t fo r the typ e of gas av ai l abl e i n the area. The gas supply piping should be sized according to the Appl icable Plumbing Code f or a m ax im u m dr aw of 18 5, 000 B T UH.
Water Pl umbi n g Follow local guidelines f or the length of the plumbing line in order to ensure that there is enough water press ure for all the fixtures on the line. Fi rst, calculate the effective l ength of the plumbing l ine by measurin g the total l ength of pipe, and then adding to this 5’ for each elbow or tee in the line.

The T-K2 Will Not Initiate First check the flow rate t hrough the unit. If the flow is not .75 GPM or great er, the unit will not i ni tia te. Ch eck th e fi lt er an d the f l ow se ns or f or a ny d eb ris or da ma ge. Press the l ower green button on t he GFCI i nsi de the unit.

Optional Items TK-TV01 Vent Terminator This termi nator can be us ed whe re a T- K2 is goi ng t o b e vented out through a wall. This is an CSA approved part of the u nit. Connect a Category III Special Gas Vent from the top of t he unit to the backside of this terminator to exhaust fl ue gases through the wall without a large thimble.
