CONNECTING THE PRINT SERVER USING THE SETUP WIZARD 1. Connect your prin ter directly to each computer on th e network and in stall U SB prin ter drivers (see your prin ter documen tation f or detailed instru ction s). The Print Server r equires that th e correct d rivers are loaded and workin g (printin g) before th e Print Server is in stalled.

WEB CONFIGURA TION 16 W eb Interface – Encryption This men u allows you to activate your Print Server’s en cryption feature , which is determin ed by your existin g LAN encryption settin g. To set encrypti on for your Prin t Server choose th e matching settin g in the dialog bo x above .
WEB CONFIGURA TION • 128-bit automati cally: Selecting this settin g will allow you to enter a pass phrase an d the Prin t Server will determine th e keys autom atically . ( W arning: Choosin g “ automatically” will g ener ate new k eys that may not fun ction with an existin g network.

Before running this appli cation, d ownload the new firm ware fr om the Belkin website at www .belkin.com. Be careful to take n ote of the locati on of th e download ed file on your computer’s hard disk.
24 WEB CONFIGURA TION W eb Interface – Sy stem Settings (Changing P asswor d) The Prin t Server ships with NO pr eset password. If you wish to set a passwor d fo r greater security , be sure to choose a passwor d that you will remember , and make a note o f it.
25 If mor e than one Prin t Server is available on your network, and som e computers need to be able to prin t to mor e than one Print Server , you will n eed to in stall the in cluded Belkin P ort Monitor (a virtu al printer port) softwar e on your PC.

31 7. Ad d the Prin t Server’s IP add ress and th e queue nam e of th e printer you want to select f or the port. Th e queue name “lp1” will poin t the port to the prin ter connected to th e printer 1 USB port on th e Print Server .

At the prompt, type “ftp” f ollowed by the IP ad dress o f the Prin t Server; press th e “Enter” k ey to create an FTP connecti on with the Prin t Server . 6. When th e connecti on is made , the user will be prompted to en ter a user name and a passwor d.
35 TROUBLESHOOTING Cannot find Print Server If the Wizar d cannot fin d your Print Server even though it appears to be functi oning pr operly , the pr oblem may be that ther e is anoth er wireless n etwork in th e area an d the Print Server has associ ated with it.
