3 BA TTER Y INST ALLA TION 1. Make sure the unit is OFF . 2. Open the batter y co ver on the bottom of the unit. 3. Inser t 4 ne w “AA” batteries (UM-3 / LR6) as illustrated. DO NO T USE RECHARGEABLE BA TTERIES in this unit. 4. Close the batter y co ver .
4 AC A D APT OR Use VT ech ® or any standard adaptor complying with EN61558 DC 9V 300mA AC centre-positive adaptor . USING THE A C AD APT OR 1. Make sure the unit is OFF . 2. Locate the adaptor jac k on the left side of the unit. 3. Inser t the adaptor plug into the unit’ s adaptor jack.
5 BA CKUP B A TTER Y INST ALLA TION ClassMaster™ Notebook comes with a backup already installed. Before using the unit, remov e the protectiv e strip from the backup batter y b y pulling on the plastic tab. T o av oid damage to the unit from leaky batteries, replace the backup battery at least once a year .
6 MOUSE Once the mouse is installed, you ma y mov e the cursor around the screen freely . The mouse has a roller ball in it; therefore , it should be used on a clean, flat surface . The mouse is compatible with VT ech ® products only . CONNECTING THE MOUSE • Make sure the unit is off .

9 BASIC OP ERA T ION MO VING THE CURSOR FROM ONE FIELD T O ANO THER To mov e the cursor between fields, categories or folders , you can: • Use the mouse or Cursor pad to click on the area y ou want to go • Press the T ab key . • Press the Up or Down Direction k eys .

11 COPYING/CUTTING AND P ASTING TEXT Press the Shift ke y + the Direction ke ys to highlight the text you w ant to cop y . Press the Action ke y and select the Cop y command or select Cut command from the Action menu. After you ha ve copied the te xt, place the cursor in the field you want the te xt to appear .
12 MANAGI N G Y O U R PRO G RAM S OPEN A PR OGRAM The ClassMaster™ Notebook helps you organize b y saving progr ams in files. T o open program, open the f older first, then you’ll see the f older’s prog rams displa yed on the screen.
13 SIMPLE CALCULA T OR The simple calculator lets you solv e ev er yda y math problems of addition, subtr action, m ultiplication and division. Use the mouse to click on the calculator b uttons or use the ke yboard to enter numbers and math symbols. Then click the “=” b utton or press Enter to get the correct ans wer .
14 SCIENTIFIC CALCULA T OR This is an adv anced, fully functional calculator that allows y ou to calculate square roots, sine, cosine and more. Use the mouse or keyboard to perf or m calculations just lik e the simple calculator .
15 AD V ANCED WORD PROCESSOR Got a school research project or book repor t? W ant to write a note or letter? Use Advanced W ord Processor to create , save and edit all y our text-based documents. T o sav e, select the Sav e command and you'll be able to open it later .
16 Set Alignment for Y our T ext: Set alignment f or selected text with the f ollowing: : Left-aligns the selected content or left justifies ne w text : Centers the selected content or center ne w text.
17 TYPING CHALLENGE Tr y this cool game to improv e your typing speed and accuracy . Select the appropr iate lev el. W ords will cascade down from the top of the screen, tr y y our best to type all the words with the ke yboard! CLASS SCHEDULE List your daily Class Schedule with the times and room numbers.
18 GEOMETR Y W ant a geometry refresher? At random, a 2- dimensional or 3-dimensional object will appear and you’ll be ask ed to find its area, perimeter or volume. Input your ans wer by typing in the number then press the b utton to confirm your ans wer .
19 DOMINO CRISIS A fun game that tests your reactions as it challenges your mathematical skills . The object of Domino Crisis is to eliminate dominos. Use the Up and Down arro w keys to mo ve the flying domino . Y ou can rotate the flying domino by pressing the Enter or Space ke y .
20 BRIXX J ust like in the arcades, Brixx tests y our reaction speed. Use the arrow k eys to mo ve the paddle so you can catch the ball. Then “throw” it against the brick wall b y pressing any ke y to launch it. Y ou nev er know how many times you ha ve to hit a brick bef ore it will disappear .
21 REVERSI The ultimate game of skill and strategy: Y ou’ve got to get more of the board filled with your discs than your opponent’ s. There are white discs on one side, b lack discs on the other . Y ou and your opponent alternate placing discs on to the board, placing them so they enclose y our riv al’ s pieces.
22 PUZZLER The object of Puzzler is to mov e blocks of the same pattern together so that they will be cleared from the screen. T o move a b lock, clic k the mouse on the bloc k you want to mo ve and drag to the right or left position, and then lift the mouse.
23 TRIVIA Ready to prov e what you know? This challenging trivia game tests your knowledge of Spor ts, Entertainment and more. First select the topic you w ant to be tested on. Then you’ll be given a series of multiple-choice questions . Use the mouse, cursor pad or the arro w ke ys to mov e between the ans wers.
24 MY WORLD ADDRESS BOOK Address Book helps you k eep track of your friends and family b y storing their names, phone numbers , e-mail address and other inf or mation. Use the mouse, cursor pad or arrow k eys to mo ve among entries, then press Enter to open a record.
25 CALEND AR T oo busy to remember what da y it is let alone what you’ve got to do ne xt? Calendar helps y ou k eep track of an y and all ev ents. Y ou select the way y ou want to view y our schedule: Daily , Weekly or Monthly . Select Daily Vie w and you’ll see all of the e vents f or a specific day .
26 TO DO LIST Use the T o Do List to create reminders and assign due dates to tasks. When y ou open the To Do List, you’ll see a list of y our tasks you’v e pre viously entered. Y ou can open an existing task by mo ving the cursor with the mouse, cursor pad or arrow k eys and pressing Enter .
27 CREA TIVITY CREA TION ST A TION Create your o wn creature with Creation Station. Then use IR and send it to your friend while you chat. T o create a new character , press the New b utton or select the New command from Action menu, then enter the name of character and select the components.
28 NO TE: Remember to save y our drawing b y selecting Sav e from the Action menu. Y ou can also send your picture to a friend using the IrSend command.
29 ANIMA TION EDIT OR Create your o wn car toon with Animation Editor! When you open the prog ram, you’ll see a list of files that you can open. Select any file with the mouse or the arrow k eys and press Enter to open the animation. T o create your o wn animation, press the New b utton.
30 A CCESSORIES MY SETUP My Setup in the Accessories folder lets y ou customize your ClassMaster™ Notebook . Set the date and time, adjust the tr acking speed of the mouse , change skin, sound and other settings. Open My Setup and use the mouse or arrow ke ys and press Enter to choose the f eature you want to customiz e.
31 SYSTEM Select this category to change the screen w allpaper , program icons and select the n umber f or mat. Y ou can tur n the Intro and Main Animations on or off and set the timing f or Auto- sleep . MOUSE/KEY With the Mouse/K ey categor y , you can set the tracking speed of y our mouse.
32 FILE AND UPLO AD MANA GER File and Upload Manager lets you organiz e and transf er files. Select the file you want to upload then press the Upload button. Press the Sync ke y so that the file can be transf erred. To open a program, select it and press Launch.
33 Sync “Syncing” is the process of connecting your ClassMaster™ Notebook to your computer . It e xchanges and updates information between y our ClassMaster™ Notebook and y our personal computer . Changes you make on y our ClassMaster™ Notebook or your PC will appear in both places after the Sync process.
34 3. Complete the User Inf or mation f or m. 4. Enter your User Name . 5. If you w ant to protect your User Account with a pass word, click the option bo x to set Security On. 6. Then, enter your pass word into the passw ord bo x. 7. And enter y our password again to confirm.
35 3. Now y ou can select the activities you w ant to add to your ClassMaster™ Notebook . To select an activity or file, clic k on it, and then click the Add to List b utton. The number of activities and data you can add to ClassMaster™ Notebook is limited by the amount of av ailable memor y on y our ClassMaster™ Notebook .
36 f older , select Options in the menu bar and click Set P ersonal Folder . When uploading files, if a file with the same name already e xists in your P ersonal F older , a new “ index number” will be automatically added after your filename to a void ov erwr iting.
37 Effective W orking P osition for IR Comm unication 1. Make sure the IR lenses of the tw o units are facing to each other and at the same lev el. 2. It is recommended to hav e the best working distance between 5 cm and 45 cm ( 2 inches and 1.5 f eet).
