01 Safety Seatbelts 01 16 General information Heavy braking can have serious consequences if the seatbelts are not used. Ensure that all passengers use their seatbelts. It is important that the seatbelt lies against the body so it can provide maximum protection.
01 Safety Seatbelts 01 `` 17 Seatbelts and pregnancy G020998 The seatbelt should always be worn during pregnancy. But it is then crucial that it be worn in the correct way. The diagonal section should wrap over the shoulder then be routed between the breasts and to the side of the abdomen.
01 Safety Seatbelts 01 18 Certain markets An acoustic signal and indicator lamp remind the driver and front seat passenger to use a seatbelt if either of them is not wearing one. At low speed, the audio reminder will sound for the first 6 seconds. Seatbelt tensioner All the seatbelts are equipped with belt ten- sioners.
01 Safety Airbags 01 `` 19 Warning symbol on the combined instrument panel The warning symbol in the combined instru- ment panel illuminates when the remote con- trol key is in key position II or III . The symbol clears after approx. 6 seconds provided the airbag system is fault-free.

The airbag deflates when compressed by the collision. The side airbag is normally only deployed on the side of the collision.

They are used to start the car and for locking and unlocking. More remote control keys can be ordered – up to 6 can be programmed and used for the same car.
