3 13 CONNECTING T O A WIRED NETWORK CONNECTING TO YOUR NETWORK Y our TV is internet-r eady . It can be connected t o your home network with a Wir ed or W ir eless connection. Connecting t o a Wired Netw or k (Best) 1 . Connect an Ethernet cable t o your r outer and t o the Ethernet por t on the back of the TV .
4 14 Completing the First-Time Setup The first time y ou turn on the TV , the Setup App will guide you thr ough each of the steps necessary t o get your TV r eady f or use. Bef or e you begin the first-time setup: • Y our TV should be installed and the po wer cor d should be connect ed to an electrical outlet.
5 15 Using the On-Screen Menu Y our TV featur es an easy-to-use on-scr een menu. T o open the on-screen men u, pr ess the MENU button on the r emot e. Y ou can also open the on-scr een menu by pr essing the VIA butt on and selecting HDTV Settings fr om the VIA Dock, then pr essing OK .
5 16 NAVIGATING THE ON-SCREEN MENU T o open the on-screen men u, pr ess the MENU/OK butt on on the r emot e. Use the Arr ow butt ons t o highlight a menu option, and pr ess the MENU/OK butt on to select that option. While navigating the on-scr een menu, you can pr ess the B AC K butt on at any time t o r eturn to the pr evious menu screen.
5 17 CHANGING THE SCREEN ASPECT RATIO The TV can display images in f our dif fer ent modes: Wide, Zoom, Normal, and Str etch. Each mode displays the pictur e dif fer ently . T o change the screen aspect r atio: 1 . Pr ess the MENU butt on on the r emot e.
5 18 Changing the Appear ance of Digital Closed Captions Digit al closed captions can be display ed according t o your pr ef er ence. T o change the appear ance of digital closed captions: 1 . Fr om the Closed Caption menu, use the Arro w buttons t o highlight Digital CC Style .

5 27 Adding New Channels Occasionally , you ma y need to add a ne w analog channel or add a new r ange of channels. Y ou can do this by using the Partial Channel Sear ch and Add Analog Channel options. T o add a range of ne w channels: 1 . Fr om the T uner menu, highlight Partial Channel Searc h .
5 28 Skipping Channels Aft er a channel scan is complet ed, you ma y find that some channels ar e too w eak to w atch comf or tably . Ther e may also be some channels y ou do not want t o view . Y ou can r emov e these channels fr om the TV’ s memory with the Skip Channel featur e.
5 29 Using the Par ental Contr ols The TV’ s par ental contr ols allow y ou to pr ev ent the TV fr om displaying certain channels or pr ogr ams without a passw or d. Accessing the Par ental Contr ols Menu T o access the Par ent al Contr ols menu: 1 .
5 30 Blocking and Unblocking Cont ent by Rating A channel may sometimes br oadcast pr ogr ams that ar e meant f or childr en, and at other times br oadcast pr ogr ams that ar e meant f or matur e audiences. Y ou may not w ant t o block the channel complet ely using a channel lock, but you may wish t o block certain pr ogr ams fr om being viewed.
5 31 Changing the Names of the Inputs T o make it easier t o recognize the dif fer ent devices att ached t o the inputs on y our TV , y ou can r ename the inputs. For ex ample, if y ou have a D VD player connect ed to the Component input, you can r ename that input t o display “D VD Play er”.
5 32 Setting the Time Zone T o ensure the corr ect time is displayed when y ou press the INFO butt on, set the TV’ s time zone: T o have the TV display the corr ect time, you m ust be connect ed to the int ernet via an Ethernet cable or a wir eless network.
5 33 T urning the Po wer Light On or Of f The P ower Light on the fr ont of your TV is set t o light up when the TV is on. Y ou can change this setting if y ou pr efer the po wer light t o be of f . When the TV is of f , the P ow er Light will also turn off .
