GETTING ST ARTED T o avoid damage to the unit do not mix old and new batteries. 1. Make sure your radio is off . 2. Remove the batter y cover . 3. Insert 3 AAA ALKALINE batteries according to the polarity symbols inside the batter y compartment. 4. Replace the batter y cover .
If the Batter y level becomes low , the batter y indicator icon will appear on the LCD and begin flashing. LOW BA TTERY ALERT The unit will go into a Batter y Low Mode. The T ransmit Mode is disabled. Replace the batteries immediately to continue using the radio.
POWER ON/OFF Press and hold to turn the Radio ON . The channel number will appear on the display . Press and hold to turn the Radio OFF . OPERA TION 4 ADJUSTING THE KEY BEEPS Y our radio emits a beep each time one of the keys (except for the PT T button and the Key) are pressed.
