2 Important safety inf ormation These warnings are provided in the inter ests of your safety. Ensure that you under stand them all before installing or usi ng the appliance. Your safety is of paramount importance. If you are unsure about any of the information in this book contact the Customer Care Depart ment.
3 During use the appliance becomes hot. Care should be taken to avoid touching the heating elements inside the oven. Ensure that all vents are not obstructed to ensure ventilation of the o ven cavity.

7 Before using the ap pliance Rating plate This is situated on the lower fro nt frame of the appliance and can be seen upon opening the door. Alternatively the rating plate may also be found o n the back or top of some models (wher e applicable). The appliance must be protecte d by a suitably rated fuse or circu it breaker.
8 Electronic minute mind er 1 = ( - ) Decr ease control & Minute minder 2 = ( + ) Increase control ( ) Bell Symbol The electronic minute minder can also be used to show the time of da y. Please note that this is a 24 ho ur clock, fo r example 2.00pm is shown as 1 400.
9 Release button (1) and press and hold button (2). The display will coun t up in one minute intervals un til the interva l t o be timed is re ached e. g. 30 minutes, see Fig. 6. If necessary press and hold button (1) to achieve the correct time interval.
10 The hob Using the hob The gas hob has different burner sizes to suit different types of cooking: To ensure maximum burner efficiency o nly use pots and pans with flat b ases appropriate to th e burner size used. Larger burner ( Rapid) - use a large pan fo r food such as chips.
11 To turn off any b urner 1. T urn the control knob to the off position. This is shown by a large dot. When lightin g any burner, ensu re that it is lit bef ore you leav e th e appliance. When turning o ff a burner, ensure the f lame has g one out b efore leaving th e appliance.
12 The grill CAUTION – Accessible parts may be hot when t he grill is in use. Young children sh ould b e kept away. When you first op erate the grill you may hear some sounds as the bu rner heats up, this is quite normal and is not a fault on the appliance.
13 The grill pan and handle The grill pan is supplied with a removable handle. To attach the handle, place the wirework under th e cut o ut in the pan so that t he metal plate hooks over the top of the grill pan. Slide the handle to the left an d over the central bump on the grill pan.

15 The main oven Heat zones There are zones of heat within the o ven. The temperature i n the middle is the gas mark you have chosen. The top of the oven is slightly hotter an d the lower shelf slightly cooler. The base of the oven is quite a lot cooler.
16 Hints and tips • Arrange the sh elves in the requir ed positions before switching the o ven on. Shelf positions are numbered from the top downwards. • Ensure t hat foo d is placed centrally on the she lf and there is sufficient room around the baking tray/dish to allow for maximum circulation.
17 Cooking cha rt The oven temperatu res are inte nded as a guide only. It may be necessary to increa se or decrease the temperatur es to suit individual pref erences and requirem ents.

19 Slow cook The slow cook setting gives a ve ry low heat in the oven. It is particular ly useful when you are cooking so ups, stews a nd casseroles because the long slow cooking will make cheaper, tough er cuts of m eat more ten der. Some foods such as pastry and biscuits ar e not suitable for slow cooking b ecause the temperature is too low.
20 Soups, casseroles a nd stews • Do not cook casseroles over 2.7 kg (6lb). • Bring to the boil on the hotplat e then cook on slow cook. • Cook on the m iddle shelf of the oven or above. • Cover food with a tight f itting lid or tin foil. Vegetables • Cut into small pieces.
21 Care and cleaning Before cleaning always allow the appliance t o cool down. Cleaning materials Before using an y cleaning mater ials on your appliance, che ck that they are suitable and that their use is recommended by the manufacturer. Cleaners that contain bleach sho uld NOT be used as they may dull the su rface finishes.
22 Cleaning the hob Clean the hotplate top using a mi ld abrasive. Take care not to damage the spark electrodes. If the spark e lectrodes a re damaged the bur ners will not light. You can remove the pan supports, burner caps and burner crowns to clean them.
23 Cleaning the s helves and grill/oven furniture All removable parts, ca n be washed in th e dishwasher. The grill pa n, grill pan grid and o ven shelves may be cleaned using a soap impregn ated steel wool pad . Soaking fir st in hot so apy water will make cleaning easier.
24 Cleaning the door(s ) To prevent da maging or weakening the door glass panels avoid the use of the fo llowing: • Household detergents an d bleaches • Impregnated pads unsuitable for non- stick .
25 If the door glas s panel becomes chipped o r has d eep scratches the glass will be weakened and m ust be replaced to p revent the possibility of the pan el shatte ring. Please contact your loc al Service F orce Centre who will be pleased to advise furthe r.
26 Something not work ing Maintenance must on ly be carrie d out by a competent/qualified person. Do not try to a lter/modify the appliance yourself, as th is could be dangerous. We recommend that your appliance has an annu al gas safety check carried out by our app roved service organisation.
27 Something not work ing continued Problem Possible solut ion The flame colour is orange/yellow. Due to the design of the burner the flame can appear to be orange/yellow ( flame disturban ce) in certain areas of the burner this is a natur al occurrence.

31 Installation instruct ions Important - safety requirements This appliance is suitable for installing on gas I2ELL and I2E. To install the appliance on gas s upply of I2E the hotplate injectors m ust be changed to those supplied with the app liance.
32 To move the appliance, open the grill door. Raise the appliance off its front feet by lifting it from inside the oven. Pull the ap pliance forward. When you replace the appliance push it back to th e stop and make sure there is the same gap at each r ear corner.
33 Levelling the app liance Adjustment to suit floor condit ions or height is obtained b y rotating clockwi se or anti clockwise the feet at th e fr ont an d rear of the appliance. A spirit level should be placed on one of the shelves to co nfirm th e appliance is correctly levelled.
34 Connecting to gas supply This appliance is designed to be installed with an appliance flexible connection only. Supply piping should not be less than R 3 /8. Connection is made to the Rc ½ (½” B.S.P.) female threaded entry pipe located just below the hotplate level on the rear left hand side of the appliance.
35 Fix lower bracke t (with two fix ing holes) to the floor the n measure the height from floor level to engagement edge on back of appliance, dimension ' C' of Fig. 3b. 4. Assemble upper bracket to lower bra cket so that the underside of br acket is dimension ' C' + 3mm above floo r level.
