- 6 - 1.2 Getting to Know the Camera The Camera an d the Shield * There are vario us positions of sc rew hole on the shield, allowing you to move the shield forward/bac kward accordi ng to your needs. For e xample, it wil l protect the camera lens well duri ng rainy day by a djusting the shiel d forward.
- 7 - The Connec tors The camera's connector s are collected in to a bundle of cable on the back panel of the camera, allo wing you t o connect the external d evices in a well-ordered way while you are installing the ca mera onto the wall (or ceiling).

- 17 - C H A P T E R 3 A CCESSING T HE C AMERA 3.1 Using IP Setup The camera comes with a conveniently utility, IP Setup, which is in clud ed in the Installation CD-ROM, allowing y ou to search the cam era on yo ur network easily. 1. Insert the Installation CD - ROM into your computer’s CD -R OM drive to initiate the Auto -Run program.
- 18 - 2. Click the IP Setup from the Auto -Run menu screen. Th en IP Setup Wizard will appear. Click “ Next ” wh en the Welcome t o the IPSetup Setup Wizard ap pears. 3. Click “ Browse” to ch oose the desired de stination location. By default, the destination lo cation is C: Program FilesTRENDnet IPS etup.
- 19 - 4. Cli ck “ Next ” to confirm th e IPSetup soft ware to be installed to t he computer. 5. When the Installation C omplete window appears, click “ Finish ”.
- 20 - 6. After installing the IPSetup u tility, the app lication is automatically installed to your compu ter, and creates a folder in “ S tart ProgramTRENDnet IPSetup ”. 7. Click Start > Programs > TR ENDnet > IPSetup , an d then click IPSetup 8.
- 21 - - Camera Display Area: It shows the con nected camera( s) with in the same network. By d efault, the IP setting on the Camera is se t up DHCP. If you have DHCP server, the camera will automatic get th e IP address from DHCP se rver. If you do not have DHCP server on your network, it will show the d efault IP as 192.
- 22 - 3.2 Accessing to th e Camera By default, the IP setting on the camera is set to DH CP. It is recommend to use IPSetup to find t he camera’s IP addres s. Once you find the IP address of the camera, click Link to access the camera’s w eb page.
- 23 - The Main screen will appear as b elow: The Main screen of the W eb Configuration provides you with the useful information and fun ctions, including: Live View/Setup Switch: Click the button to configure th e camera. For details, see Chapter 4.
- 24 - Snapshot allows you to capture and save a still image. Browse allows you to assign the destination fold er to store the video clips and still imag es. Talk allows you to speak out throu gh the camera. Ple ase no te only one user is allowed to use this function a t a time.
- 25 - 3.3 Configuring the I P Address of the Computer If you are failed to acce ss to the camera, plea se check the I P address of your computer. When y ou connect th e camera to your computer d irectly to proceed with configuration of the camera, you n eed to set up t he IP addresses to be in the sa me segment for th e two devices to communicate.
- 26 - C H A P T E R 4 C ONFIGURING T HE C AMERA 4.1 Using the Web Co nfiguratio n You can access and man age the camera throu gh the Web browser an d the provided software app licatio n UltraView Pro . This chapter describes the Web Configuration, a nd guides you th rough the configurat ion of the camera by using the Web bro wser.
- 27 - 4.2 Using Smart Wi zard The camera’s Smart Wizard le ts you configure y our camera easily and quickly. The wizard will guide you through the necessary settin gs with detailed instructions on each step. To start the wizard, click Smart Wizard in the left m enu bar.
- 28 - Step 2. IP Settings Setup the IP setting, DHCP, St atic IP o r PPPoE. Step 3. Email Settings Enter the mail server informat ion. If you are using a free mails server, select the SSL and/or STARTTLS according to the mail server requirement.
- 29 - Step 4. Confirm Settings Click Apply to finish the s etting or click Prev to change the previou s setting or click Cancel to disregard a ll setting.
- 30 - 4.3 Basic Setup The Basic menu conta ins three sub -menus that p rovide the system settings for the camera, such as the Cam era Name, Location , Date & Time, and User manage ment.
- 31 - 4.3.1 Basic >> System Basic: This item allows you to assign the camera n ame and location. Camera Name : Enter a descriptive name for the camera , wh ich will help you to identify the camera when yo u have multiple cameras on your network.
- 32 - 4.3.2 Basic >> Date & Time Date and Time : Enter the correct d ate and time for the ca mera . TimeZone: Select the proper time zone fro m the pull -down menu. Synchronize with PC: Select this optio n and click Apply . The date & time settings of the ca mera will be synchron ized with the connected computer.
- 33 - 4.3.3 Basic >> User Administrator : To prevent unau thorized access to the cam era’s Web Configuration, y ou are strongly recommend t o change the default administrator pas sword. Type the ad ministrator password twice to set and con firm the p assword.
- 34 - Guest User Name: Enter the guest’s n ame you want to a dd to use the camera. Password: En ter the password for th e new guest. UserList: Display th e existing guests of the cam era. To delete a u ser, select the one you wan t to delete and click De lete .
- 35 - 4.4 Network Setting s The Network menu conta ins t wo sub- menus that provide th e network settings for the cam era, such as the IP Setting, DDNS Settin g, and IP Filter. 4.4.1 Network >> Network IP Setting : This item allo ws you to select the IP address mode an d set up the related configura tion.
- 36 - Static IP: Select this op tion to assign the IP ad dress for the camera directly. You can u se IPFinder to o btain the related setting values. IP Enter the IP address of the camera. The default setting is 192.168.10.30 . Subnet Mask Enter the Subnet Mask of the camera.

- 39 - 4.4.3 Network >> IP Filter The IP Filter setting allo ws the ad ministrator of the camera t o limit the users within a certain ran ge of IP add resses to access the camera.

- 41 - 4.5 Setting up Video & Audio The Video & Audio m enu contains four sub- menus that prov ide the video and audio settings for the camera.
- 42 - 4.5.1 Video & Audio >> Camera Image Setting Black Level: Adjust th e brightness l evel from 0 ~ 5. Brightness: Ad just the brightness le vel from 0 ~ 100. Saturation: Ad just the colors level fro m 0 ~ 100. Sharpness : Ad just the sharpnes s level from 0 ~ 100.
- 43 - 4.5.2 Video & Audio >> Video H.264 Video Resolution: Select the desired vid eo resolution fro m the four formats: SXG A , VGA , QVGA and QQVGA . The higher setting (VGA) obtains b etter video quality while it uses more resource within your n etwork.
- 44 - Frame Rate: Select Auto or a pro per setting depending on y our network status. MJPEG Video Resolution: Select the desired video re solution from th e four formats: SXG A , VGA , QVGA and QQVGA . - 45 - 4.5.3 Video & Audio >> Audio Camera Micro phone In : Select the Enable option t o enable the camera’s audio fun ction, so that y ou can receive the on -sit e sound and voice from the cam era.
- 46 - 4.5.4 Video & Audio >> Overlay / Mask This sub-menu is us ed to set the image o verlay and mask feature of the camera. Image Overlay: Thi s item allows you to set the image o verlay. In the Image File optio n, click Browse to select the image file from yo ur computer, and then click Upload .
- 47 - NOTE The width and height of the input overlay graphic should be multiple of 4 at a maximum size of 43690 pixels , and in JPG or BMP (24-bit RGB) format. Privacy Mask: This it em allows you to configure up t o two mask areas. Select the area 1 or 2 fro m the Windo w pull-down li st, and then click Enable .

Share: Assign the folder on the Network Storag e server to sh are the files to users. Path: Assign the pat h for uploadin g the files on the Networ k Storage server.
- 55 - Encode Format: Se lect MPEG4 o r H.264 as the encode format while recording. File Format : Select M P4 or AVI as th e file format while recording.

Select the Enable o ption on each item, and th en select a Schedule Profile from the pull -down list and set the Inter val time.
