3 INTRODUCTION This chapter describes the features of the 26-Port 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Web Smar t Switch and some backgroun d information about Ethernet/Fast Ethernet /Gigabit Ethernet switching technology . Gigabit Ethernet Technology Gigabit Ethernet is an extension of IEEE 802.

11 Connecting Network Ca ble The Switch supports 10Mbps Ethernet or 100Mbps Fast Ethernet and it runs both in half and full duplex m ode using two pair of Category 5 cable.
