2 Congratulations on the pur chase of your ne w Comfort Control. It has been designed to give you man y years of reliable service and easy-to-use, push-button climate control. Features • Separately pr ogrammable w eekday/weekend sc hedules. • One-touch temp control o verr ides progr am schedule at any time.
3 Y our new Comfort Control is pre-prog rammed and ready to g o. All you hav e to do is set the time and day . Then c heck the settings below and c hange if needed: 1 Set time and day (required for proper operation) ................................See page 6 2 Select fan setting (Auto/On): Preset to A uto .

Note: If the SET CLOCK / DAY / SCHEDULE option is not displa y ed, press DONE or RUN SCHEDULE .
Heat Heat On 7 Select the fan setting Press the FAN button to select A uto or On. In “ Auto” mode (the most commonl y used setting), the fan runs only when the heating or cooling system is on. If set to “On, ” the f an r uns continuously . Use this setting for impr oved air circulation, or f or mor e efficient air cleaning.
8 Select the system setting Note: The A uto and Em Heat system settings may not appear , depending on how y our Comf or t Control was installed. Press the SYSTEM button to select: • Heat: Controls only the heating system. • Cool: Controls only the cooling system.

10 This Comfort Control is pre-set to use Energy Star ® program settings. W e recom- men d these settings, since they can reduce your heating/cooling e xpenses b y as much as 33%. (See ne xt page to adjust times and temperatures of eac h time period.

12 Program sc hedule override (temporary) Press or to immediately adjust the temperature. This will temporarily ov er ride the temperature setting f or the current time period. The new temperatur e will be maintained onl y until the ne xt pr ogrammed time period begins (see page 10).
13 Program sc hedule override (permanent) Press HOLD to per manently adjust the temperature. This will override the temperature settings f or all time per iods . The “Hold” f eature turns of f the progr am schedule and allows y ou to adjust the Comfort Control manuall y , as needed.
14 A uto Changeover (heat/cool) A uto Changeov er is a feature used in climates where both air conditioning and heating are used on the same da y . When the system is set to Auto, the Comfort Control automatically selects heating or cooling depending on the indoor temperature.
Set Clock/Day/ Schedule 15 Built-in compressor protection This featur e helps prevent damage to the compressor in your air conditioning or heat pump system. Damage can occur if the compressor is re-started too soon after shutdown. This featur e forces the compr essor to wait for a f e w minutes before r estarting.
16 Adaptive Intellig ent Recovery eliminates guesswor k when setting your schedule. It allows the Comf or t Control to “learn” how long your furnace and air conditioner take to reach the temper ature you w ant. Just set y our program sc hedule to the time you want the house to r each your desired temperatur e.
17 Battery replacement Batteries are optional (to provide backup power) because y our Comfort Control was wired to run on A C power when installed. Install fresh batteries immediately when the REPLACE BATTERY warning beg ins f lashing. The warning f lashes about two months bef ore the batteries are depleted.
18 In case of difficulty If you hav e difficulty with your Comfort Control, please tr y the sugg estions below . Most problems can be corrected quickl y and easily . Displa y is blank • Check circuit break er and reset if necessar y . • Make sure po wer switch at heating & cooling system is on.
19 Heating or cooling system does not respond • Press SYSTEM button to set system to Heat. Mak e sure the temperature is set higher than the Inside temperature. • Press SYSTEM button to set system to Cool. Mak e sure the temperature is set lower than the Inside temper ature.
