8 Features of your new TV The following are just a fe w of the many exciting features of your new T oshiba widescreen, integrated HD, LCD TV : Integrated digital tuning (8VSB A TSC and QAM) eliminates the need for a separate digital con verter set-top box (in most cases).

Main menu layout The tables below and on the ne xt page provide a quick ov erview of your TV’ s menu system. T o open the main menus (illustrated below), press on the remote control or TV control panel.

Chapter 5: Setting up your TV 0 Programming channels into the TV’ s channel memor y When you press or on the remote control or TV control panel, your TV will stop only on the channels you programmed into the TV’ s channel memory . Follo w the steps below to program channels into the TV’ s channel memory .
Chapter 5: Setting up your TV 1 T o manually add digital subchannels on a physical channel: Use the Channel Numbers and the Dash ( ) on the remote control to enter the channel number (for example, 56–1). If the channel is found, the number will be added to the list and the box will be checked.

And then either: a) Press 0–7; or b) Repeatedly press on the remote control and then press to change the input; or c) Repeatedly press on the remote control or TV control panel to change the input.

If a particular input is not used, you can select Hide as the labe l, w hich will cau se t hat inpu t to be “ gray ed out” in the Input Selection screen and skipped ov er when you press on the remote control.

TheaterWide 1 (for 4:3 format programs) The center of the picture remains close to its original proportion, but the left and right edges are stretched wider to fill the screen.

T o adjust the audio quality: Press and open the Audio menu. Highlight Audio Settings and press . Press q or p to highlight the item you want to adjust ( Bass , T reble , or Balance ).
Chapter 6: Using the TV’ s features Using the Locks menu The Locks menu includes the Enable Rating Blocking, Edit Rating Limits, Channels Block, Input Lock, Front (control) Panel Lock, and Ne w PIN Code features. Y ou can use these features after entering the correct PIN code.

When a PC is connected to the TV's PC IN terminal, you can use the PC Settings feature to make adjustments to the image. If the edges of the picture are cut of f, readjust the Horizontal Position and Vertical Position .

1 Using the advanced picture settings features Using dynamic contrast When dynamic contrast is set to On , the TV will detect changes in the picture quality that af fect the appearance of your contrast settings and then automatically adjust the video.
Chapter 7: Using the TV’ s advanced features Using CableClear ® digital noise reduction The CableClear ® digital noise reduction feature allo ws you to reduce visible interference in your TV picture. This may be useful when recei ving a broadcast with a weak signal (especially a Cable channel) or playing a noisy video cassette or disc.
