Doors Doors 2.2 MODEL S OWNERS MANUAL OPENING AND CLOSING Doors K eyles s Locking and Unlocking Model S has sensors that can r ecognize the presenc e of a ke y . The sensors are located at each end of the dash panel and behind the r ear bumper , and have a r ange of appro ximately three f eet (one meter).

Doors OPENING AND CLOSING 2.5 Child-prot ection Locks Model S has child-protection locks on the rear doors and liftgate to pr event them fr om being opened using interior handles. Use the touchscr een to turn child protection locks on or off . T ouc h Controls > Settings > Chi ld Protection Locks.
Doors Doors 2.6 MODEL S OWNERS MANUAL Opening Interior Doors with No Powe r If Model S has no electrical power , front doors open as usual using the interior door ha ndles. T o open the rear doors, fold back the edge of the carpet below the r ear seats to expose the mechanical r elease cable.

Rear Trunk OPENING AND CLOSING 2.9 Interior Release T o open the trunk from inside Model S, press the interior r elease switch and push the liftga te up. If Model S is equipped with the optional tech package, y ou do not need to push it up. When you pr ess the release swit ch, it opens, and when yo u pull the swit ch, it closes.
