General information 1 General informa tion About the ISD N gatewa y The ISDN GW 3201 Series is a range of high perfor mance video gatew a ys which enables ISDN netw ork connectivity for the Codian IP-based video infrastr ucture products as w ell as IP-based endpoints.

4 Connecting the ISDN gatew ay Befor e you start Y our ISDN connection Outside North America Check with your netw ork pro vider to ensure that your incoming ISDN PRI line is ter minated in an NTU/CSU (Netw ork T er m ination Unit/ Channel Ser vice Unit).
Connecting the ISDN gateway 5 Step one: Connect power Connect the po w er connector on the rear of the unit to the pow er supply using the supplied po wer ca ble .
6 Initial configur ation Step one: Connect to the console port 1 Ensure po wer is connected to the ISDN gate wa y and the Status LED is g reen. 2 Connect the console por t of the ISDN gate w a y to the ser ial por t of your PC using the bl ue RJ45 to DB9 console cable supplied.
Initial configuration 7 1 T o configure Ethernet Port A, enter the following for auto-sensing mode: ethertype auto or to configure a speed and duplex, use the follo wing command: ethertype <10|100&.

Configuring the ISDN gateway 9 Step three: C onfigure an H.323 gatek e eper If you ha ve H.32 3 endpoints, using an H.323 ga tekeeper can ma ke it easier for ca llers to make their call. Y ou can configure the ISDN gate wa y to use an exter nal gatekeeper or its o wn built-in gatek eeper .
10 ISDN to IP dial plan setup Options 1 and 2 will automaticall y handle both voice and video calls . Option 1 - This example assumes that y ou ha v e a PRI line that has 100 numbers (00 to 99) associated with it and tha t all your endpoints are r e gistered to a gatekeeper with registrations in the range 5900 - 5999.
