House Codes What ar e they and wh y do we need them? House codes ar e used to set up a pr oprietary network f or MusicLites in your home, apartmen t or oce to prev ent other MusicLites tr ansmiers and r emotes oper ated by y our neighbors from a ecng your ML ’ s oper aon or fr om yours a ecng others.
Zone Pr ogramming What is a z one? A z one is a grouping of 1 or mor e MLs where you w ant the lighng and the audio sour ce to behav e in synchr onizaon. T ypically , y ou would want all the MLs in a r oom to ha ve the same light levels and pla y from the same audio source.
Audio Mode Set -Up Why do I ha ve to set up m y speak er? MLs can be set t o le channel, right channel or le+right. T ypically , y ou will want to oper ate an independent le and right speak er for a st ereo e ect. In some instances, y ou may wan t to ha ve all of them on le+right.
Seng Up the Sour ces What is a sour ce? A source is an y audio stor age device that can pr ovide output. Sources include, but are not limit ed to, smartphones, iPods®, iPhones®, iP ads®, A/V receiv ers, t elevisions, radios, comput ers and MP3 pla yer s.
Unders tanding Wireless Netw orks MusicLites oper ate in the 2.4 GHz RF (Radio Frequency) bandwidth. This is the same r ange as other wireless devices lik e wireless int ernet router s, cordless t elephones and Bluetooth devices. There is limit ed bandwidth av ailable and this could a ect the oper aon of MusicLites.
Using the Remot e How do I use zones t o select source? Select the desired z one by pressing Z1-Z5 or AZ f or all zones. There is a user applied s cker tha t can be a ached to y our remot e to recor d which rooms are set f or which zones. Then select a sour ce: S1, S2 or S3 (see FIGURE 7) .
Range What is the r ange of my tr ansmier? T ransmi er range is 61m [200 ] line of sigh t or 15m [50 ] through tradional in ternal structures.

The MusicLites modules combine ligh t and audio into an experience tha t must be seen and hear d to be believed.
Y ou should be able to c ontrol the light lev els and the audio volume through the r emote con trol. If you are oper ang on a wall dimmer , the MusicLites will not dim from the dimmer .
USB T r ansmier (Part number 72468) What comes with the tr ansmier? • USB tr ansmier • Remot e control • Eas y Installa on Guide What does the USB T r ansmier do? By plugging the USB transmi er into a comput er you can play audio fr om that device and ha ve it output to the MLs.
Mak e sure the house code is set t o the proper code (def ault is 0). If not, tak e the screw driver pr ovided and turn to the corr ect house code. Decide what sour ce you want it t o play . There is a sliding switch with 3 posions on the side of the tr ansmier .

Y ou should now be able to c ontrol the ML volume with both the device and the r emote contr ol. If you would lik e to use only one device to c ontrol audio volume, turn the v olume to the highest sengs on the device you do not w ant to use. This will give y ou full audio rang e.

Y ou can also pur chase trim rings at any DIY st ore. Halo 301-P is av ailable and works with MusicLites units and most 4 and 6 inch r ecessed cans.
