OPERATING YOUR NEW ZTR M OWER (cont.) CONTROLS ● OPERATOR P RESENCE SYSTEM : This mower is equipp ed with an operator’s pr esence system. Any attempt to leave the seated posit ion with the engine run ning, without first disengaging the PTO switch and p lacing the steering levers in the neutral position, will cause t he engine to shut off.

MAIN TENANCE SCHED ULE INSPECT BEFO RE EACH USE - Loose fasteners : Be sure all f asteners ar e at proper torque. Espe ciall y guards and blades. - Parking brake : If brake does not keep uni t from rolling, brak e must be adjusted or repaired. - Tires : Always check a nd maintain proper tir e pressure (See tire sidew all for recomm endation).
INSPECT EVERY 25 HOURS -Lubrication: Gre ase all pi vot points with a high temp grease - Battery, check a nd clean : Keep batter y terminals cl ean and tight. Per iodic charging will extend it s life. Cl ean t erminals with a wire brush and coat wi th a petroleum j ell y.
SERVIC E / ADJUS TMENTS TRACKING Adjustments to the unit ma y need to be mad e if t he unit does not track in a st raight lin e. The primar y reason for the un it not tr ackin g straight is incorre ct or unba lanced t ire pressure. Before maki ng an y adjustments first check and adjust the ti re pressure.
SERVIC E / ADJUS TMENTS REMOVING THE MOWER DECK 1. Turn off engin e and en gage parkin g brake. 2. Rotate cut ting hei ght lev er counterclo ckwise to low est cuttin g position. 3. Remove bolt from picku p point loc ated at the front of th e deck. 4. Remove cott er pins on rear hanger poin ts and slide out st abiliz er bars.
LEVELING THE MOW ER DECK 1. Position un it on a smooth lev el surface. 2. For side to side lev elin g, measure th e distan ce from th e floor to th e bottom edge at the rear of the d eck. The m easurem ent should be equal within 1/16 inch si de t o side.
