Chapter 1 Setting U p the Ser ver Hardware 3 Disassembling the Slide Ra ils Before Installation Use this procedure to r emove the mounting brackets from the slide-rail assemblies. 1. Unpack the sl ide-rails. 2. Locate the slide-rail l ock at the fron t of one of the slide-rai l assemblies, as shown in FIGURE 1- 1 .

Chapter 1 Setting U p the Ser ver Hardware 5 Attaching the Slide-Rail Assemblies to the Rack Use this pr ocedur e to install the slide-rail assemblies to the rack. 1. Position a slide-rail assembly in your rack so that the brackets at each end of the slide-rail assembly are on the outside of the front and rear rack posts.

Continue pus hing until the s lide-rail lo ck s on the front of the mounting brackets engage the slide-rail assemblies.
