4 W ARNING ! Secure the top anchora ge strap (tether) pr o vided with this child restraint as specified in both the vehicle and this instruction manual. Do not remo v e any of the warning labels or other labels on the child restraint. Do not use this child restraint without the seat pad.

10 Choosing Restraint and Position Y our child’ s height, weight and age determine ho w your child restraint should be placed in the v ehicle and which restraint should be used.
12 5 Place the child’ s bottom and back flat against the child restraint. This will increase comf ort and allow the harness to pr operly tighten. Harness Guide 7 Check Harness Height F orward-F acing P osition: Harness guide must be e ven with or just abo ve the shoulders.
14 15 This child restraint has 3 positions: Upright, Semi- reclined, and fully r eclined. F orward-F acing - Reclined, semi-reclined or upright. Belt-P ositioning Booster - Must be fully- upright. Reclining the Child Restraint 1 T o fully recline, pull out on handle and push top of child restraint back.
16 17 4 Pull on harness adjustment strap to tighten harness snugly . NO TE: A snug stra p should not allow an y slack. It lies in a relativ ely straight line without sagging. It does not press on the child’ s flesh or push the child’ s body into an unnatural position.
18 19 Choosing LA TCH or V ehicle Belts The LA TCH System Anchor bars V ehicle Belts If LA TCH is not an option, you will use y our vehicle’ s belts. In most cases you will use the lap/shoulder belt combination. There are some v ehicle belts that will not work with a child restraint or r equire special attention.

Failur e to check and adjust the manual belt as described abo ve can r esult in serious injur y or death. 1 2 Manual Belts Manual lap belts ar e common in the center rear seat and can allow the child restraint to loosen when it is tilted or jarr ed.
22 23 5 Rebuckle belt. Lap belt portion should now be tight. If not, remov e locking clip and repeat all steps. Forwar d-Facing Use: 22-40 lbs. (10.1-18 kg), 34-43” (85.
24 Connect and tighten harness straps prior to installing in vehicle. Place child restraint flush against the back of the vehicle seat f orward- facing in the back seat. The recline position is to be used only to install the child restraint flush against the back of the vehicle seat back, if needed.
26 27 With weak est hand at belt path, tilt and push the child restraint f orward and back, and from side to side. If the seat belts do not loosen, your child restraint should be secure. NO TE: Some “pla y” from fr ont to back or about an inch fr om side to side is acceptable.

T o Adjust T op Anchorage Strap: Loosen top anchorage strap into “loops” at adjuster slide as shown abov e . T o tighten top anchorage strap: Pull on free end (A) of top anchorage strap while holding hook (B) . T o loosen top anchorage strap: Pull on low er top anchorage strap (C) while holding adjusting slide (D) with your other hand.
32 33 Belt-Positioning Booster Use Lap/Shoulder Belt Refer to the “Choosing Restraint and P osition” section to mak e sur e your child is at the pr oper weight and height to use the belt- positioning booster . W ARNING ! Loose LA TCH hooks can result in serious injur y or death.
34 35 Rotate metal clip , then insert up through the shell and pad. From the fr ont, pull buckle free fr om shell and pad. Lock buckle plates into buckle for futur e use. Belt-Positioning Booster Use: 40-100 lbs. (18.1-45.4 kg), 43-52” (110.1-132.1 cm), Over 1 year of age.
36 37 W ARNING ! Check vehicle instructions f or more information about air ba g/child r estraint use. Do Not Use only the lap belt when using this seat as a belt-positioning booster without the internal harness. The shoulder belt must alwa ys be adjusted snugly acr oss the child’ s chest.
38 39 3 W ARNING ! Failur e to reattach the buckle and harness corr ectly , can result in serious injury or death. Thread one end of harness down thr ough slot on left side of shell (1) , acr oss bottom of seat (2) and up thr ough slot on right side (3) .
40 41 Fr om the top , pull pad off shell and ov er headr est. 4 At the bottom, unsnap pad off shell at one corner , working pad out fr om harness adjustment cov er and unsnap other side. Remov e pad fr om shell. 5 Remov e both low er harness guides in bottom of seat by r eaching between the base and shell fr om the back.
42 43 1. If y our child r estraint is not held securel y b y the belt: Press do wn firmly on the child r estraint and r emov e all the slack in the belt. Mak e sure the belt buckle is not up against the child restraint wher e the belt cannot be tightened.
