Using Y our C1 PictureBook Co mputer 9 Using Battery Power Y ou can use a battery pack as a source of power. The PCGA-BP1 1 battery pack that comes with your computer is not fully char ged at the time of purchase. Follow the steps below to insert and char ge the battery pack.

PC cards allow you to connect portable external devices, such as a CD-ROM drive, or to connect to a network. Y ou can use this port to communicate with other infrar ed- equipped devices with compatible protocols, such as a digital still ca mera or other computers.

The cover opens only to a 45 degree angle. 2 Plug one end of the phone cable into the jack on the inside of the phone line jack cover .

For e xample, if you have an external monitor attached to the monitor connector , your LCD display and the monitor can function as a single desktop.

57 Using the Smart Utilities Using Smart Capture Y our computer includes an integrated digital camera. Y ou can use the camera to capture still images and recor d video clips. Capturing a still image 1 Press the CAP TURE button to start Smart Capture.

Using the Smart Utilitie s 65 11 Address your e-mail, compose your message, and then send the e-mail. The video clip is attached as a compressed A VI file (file extension .A VI). The VDO Codec is attached as an executable file (file extension .exe). 12 The recipient of your video clip can execute the VDO Codec by double clicking on the VDODecode30.

Getting Help 73 T roubleshooting This section describes how to solve common problems you may encounter when using your computer . My computer wo n’t start ❑ Check that the computer is plugged into a power source and that it is turned on. Check that the power indicator on the front panel of the computer indicates that the power is on.
