I nsert two R6 (si z e AA) batte ries b y matching the 3 and # ends on the batterie s to the markings i n side the co mpartment.

11 US Getting Started – B ASIC – DAV-HDX501W 2 Attach the p ost cover to the other en d of th e post. Orient the slot toward you, attach the post cover so that th e slot of the post engages with the ta b of the post cover , then s ecure with the scr ew.
12 US Getting Started – B ASIC – 3 Lay the post in the slot of the speak er, slide the post to the end of the slot, then se cure the post with the mounting plate and screws. Select the speaker whose color of the jack on th e rear panel of speaker matches the color tube of the spea ker cord.
13 US Getting Started – B ASIC – When securin g the mounting plate , position th e mounting plate depending on the desir ed height of the spea ker. DAV-HDX500 DAV-HDX501W After a ttaching th e post to the base , you can adjust the height of th e speaker.
14 US Getting Started – B ASIC – 4 Connect the speaker cords to the speaker. Be su re to matc h the speak er cord to t he app ropr iate t ermi nal on the com pon ents: 3 to 3 , and # to # .
15 US Getting Started – B ASIC – 5 Attach the post to the base. Insert t h e post s o that th e slit o n the lower p art of the post aligns with the projec tion of t h e base, then s ec ure the p ost with th e 2 sc rew s.
16 US Getting Started – B ASIC – 6 Adjust the height of the speaker. Loosen (but do not re move) the sc rews , adjust the h eight of th e spea ker, then sec ure t he screw s. Adju st the sp eake r of one side, t hen ad just an othe r spea ker by check ing lin es as a g uide .

21 US Getting Started – B ASIC – 1 Conn ectin g the Speaker s Required cords The connector and colo r tube of the sp eaker co rds are the same color as the labe l of t he jacks to be conn ected. Note • Do not catch the sp eaker co rd ins u lation in the SPEAKER j ack.

B Audio cord (not supplied) Ti p • When you want to output the TV sound or stereo soun d of a 2 channel source from the 6 speak ers, select the “Dolby Pro Logic,” “Dolby Pro Logic II MOVIE,” or “Dolby Pro Logic II MUSIC” sound field (page 42).
23 US Getting Started – B ASIC – To connect the FM wire antenna (aerial) Connect the FM wire antenna (aerial) to the FM 75 Ω COAX IAL jack. Note • Be sure to full y exten d the FM wire an tenna (ae rial) . • A fter con necting th e FM wire antenn a (aerial ), keep it as hori zontal as p ossible.

38 US Basi c Oper ati ons Ti p • When you connect the s ystem and TV wit h the HDMI cord, you can operate them simp ly, using the HDMI CONTROL functi on. For details , see the HDMI CONTROL Gui de (suppli ed separ ately). • The DISC 1-5 indicators chan ge color as follo ws: – g reen: the di sc is select ed, or t he di sc is being played back.

52 US A DVD is divided into a lot of se ctions, which make up a pictu re or mu sic feat ure . These sections are call ed “titles .” When you pla y a DVD whi ch cont ains several title s, yo u can select th e title you want using DVD TOP MENU.

Other Op erations 75 US Reinfo rcing bass freq uencies You can re inforce bass fr equenc ies. Press DYNAMIC BASS. Bass frequen cies are effecti vely reinforc ed. To turn off the sound effect Press DYNAMIC BASS again . You ca n set the syst em to t urn off at a pres et time, so you can fall asleep liste ning to music.
