29 Playing Discs Resuming Playback from the Point Where You Stopped the Disc (Multi-disc Resume ) The player stores the point where you stopped the disc for up to 6 discs and resumes playback the next time you insert the same disc. When you store a resume playback point for the seventh disc, the resume playback point for the first disc is deleted.
30 Using the DVD’s Menu A DVD is divided into long sections of a picture or a music f eature called “titles.” When you play a DVD which contains several titles, you can select the title you want using the TOP MENU button .

35 Playing Discs Playing repeatedly (Repeat Play) You can play all of the titles or tracks on a disc or a single title, chapter, or track repeatedly. You can use a combination of Shuffle or Program Play modes. 1 Press DISPLAY during playback. The Control Menu appears.

42 Checking the play information o f the Disc To check DVD/CD text Press TIME/TEXT repeatedly in Step 2 to display text recorded on the DVD/CD. The DVD/CD text appears only when text is recorded in the disc. You cannot change the text. If the disc does not contain text, “NO TEXT” appears.

44 Sound Adjustments Changing the Sound When playing a DVD VIDEO recorded in multiple audio formats (PCM, Dolby Digital, or DTS), you can change the audio format. If the DVD VIDEO is recorded with multilingual tracks, you can also change the language.
45 Sound Adjustments Checking the audio signal format If you press AUDIO repeatedly during playback, the format of the current audio signal (Dolby Digital, DTS, PCM, etc.

This mode is effective when the distance between the front L and R speakers is short, such as with built-in speakers on a stereo TV.

49 Enjoying Movies Sharpening the Outline of an Image (SHARPNESS) The Sharpness function sharpens the outlines of images on your TV screen. 1 Press DISPLAY during playback. The Control Menu appears. 2 Press X / x to select (SHARPNESS), then press ENTER.
50 Playing a DATA CD About MP3 Audio Tracks and JPEG Image Files What is MP3/JPEG? MP3 is audio compression technology that satisfies the ISO/MPEG regula tions. JPEG is image compression technology. Discs that the player can p lay You can play back DATA CDs (CD-ROMs/ CD-Rs/CD-RWs) recorded in MP3 (MPEG 1 Audio Layer 3) and JPEG format.
51 Playing a DATA CD When you insert a DATA CD and press H , the numbered tracks (or files) are played sequentially, from 1 through 7 . Any sub- albums/tracks (or files) contained within a currently selected album take priority o ver the next album in the same tree.
52 Selecting an album from a DATA CD 1 Insert a DATA CD into the disc tray. The list of albums recorded on the DATA CD appears. When an album is being played, its title is shaded. You can turn the album list on and off by pressing the MENU button. 2 Press X / x to select the album you want and press H .
