9 Introduction of functions This se ction introduces some f reque ntly-used sho oting f unctions and charact eristic functi ons. See the pages in pare ntheses for deta ils. Expos ure c ompen sat ion (1 06) You ca n compen sate the e xposure to ad just the bri ghtness of the entire screen.
10 Introduction of functions DRO/Auto HDR (126 ) D-Range Optimiz er: By d ividing t he imag e into small a reas, t he camera analyse s the contra st of light and sha dow betw een the subjec t and the backgrou nd, produc ing the ima ge with the optimal bright ness and gradation.
11 Introduction of functions Cust omizat ion (4 2, 177) The ca mera is equip ped with a c ustom butt on that can be assigned a de sired function. You can al so assign functio ns to other buttons, such as t he AEL button , or the ISO button.
12 Before use Notes on us ing your c amer a Shooting proc edure This camera has 2 modes for monitoring subjects: the LCD screen mode using the LCD screen, and the v iewfinder mode using the viewfinder.
13 Notes on using your camera Before use • When the temperature of the camera rises, the image quality may deteriorate. It is recommended that you wait until the temperature of the camera drops before continuing to shoot. • The surface of the camera may get warm.
14 Notes on using your camera every detail of the entire composition, you can also use the LCD screen. • If you pan the camera while looking into the viewfinder or move your eyes around, the image in the viewfinder may be distorted or the color of the image may change.

56 Attaching a lens • When you want to shoot full-frame images, use a lens desi gned for a full-frame camera. • When you use a lens for which a tripod socket is provided, attach the lens onto the tripod using the tripod socket provided to help balance the weight of the lens.

92 Adjusting the focus • Use [ Single-sho t AF] when t he subject is moti onless. • Use [Continuo us AF] or [Depth Map Assist Continuo us AF] when the subject is in mo tion. • When you want to focus on a subj ect that mo ves from side to side and/ or up and down am ong the 19 AF are as, use [Depth Map Assist Continuous AF].
