Its purpose, as ide from recom mending s tandard operating procedures and routine s ervice requirem ents, is to prom ote SAFET Y through the use of accepted oper ating practices.
6 Section 2 - OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS 2.1 PRE-STA RT CHECK LIST Make the following chec ks and perf orm the service required bef ore each start-up. 2.1.1. Check tires and add or releas e air as needed to bring pressure in dr ive tires to: 12 psi (T urf T y pe Tires ), 5 psi ( All Terr ain Type Tires) and 25 ps i in rear caster tire.
7 Section 2 - OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS 2.2 STA RT ING & STOPPING – ENGINE, BLA DES & PA RKING BRA KE This mac hine is equipped with dual hy dros tatic wheel drive transm issions. Each trans mission is controlled by a single motion c ontrol lever or joystick.
8 Section 2 - OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS 2.2. STO PPING ENGINE 2.2.1. ENGINE 1. Stop engine by turning k ey to the “OFF” position. Move engine speed control to turtle “SLOW ” position and key to “STOP” position. See Figure 2.6. WA RNING DO NOT leave machine with engine running.

Contact a loc al SNAPPER dealer for parts and service assistance. For the correct part or inform ation for a par ticular SNAPPER Out Front Z- Rider, alway s m ention the model and serial number.

Move the joy stic k to the center or neutral position to stop m achine.

16 Section 4 - A DJUSTMENTS & REPA IR 4.5 MOW ER BLA DE REPAIR/REPLA CEM ENT 4.5.1. BLA DE WEAR LIMIT S 1. Inspect blade frequently for signs of excess ive wear or damage. See Figure 4.5. FIGURE 4.5 WA RNING DO NOT use a cut ting blade that sh ows signs of excessive w ear or d amage.
17 Section 4 - A DJUSTMENTS & REPA IR 4.6.2. ENG INE BELT REPLACEMENT 1. Route belt around blade pulleys and idler pulley in sam e the position as old belt was rem oved. It may be necessary to use a pry bar to pull idler pulley back to ins tall belt.
18 Section 4 - A DJUSTMENTS & REPA IR 4.7.4. BA T TERY TEST ING There ar e two ty pes of battery tests : Unloaded and Loaded. T he unloaded tes t is the procedure that will be disc us sed. It’s the sim plest and mos t comm only used. An unloaded test is m ade on a battery w ithout discharging current.
19 Section 4 - A DJUSTMENTS & REPA IR 4.8 MO WER SPINDLES (Field Serviceable Spindles) BEA RING REPLACEMENT In the event that a spindle bearing requir es replacem ent, the SNAPPER Field Serviceable Spindles have been designed so that no special tools or pres ses are required.
