Intended use 6 Hearing instruments are int ended to impr ove the hearing of hearing impaired persons. Diagnosis and pr escription of a hearing instrument must be performed by hearing health specialists, e.g. ENT doctors, audiologists or acous- ticians.
General not es on safe ty 7 NOTICE Y our hearing instruments are sensitive t o extreme heat, high humidity , strong magnetic fi elds (> 0.1T), X -rays and mec hanical stres s. Do no t expose your hearing instruments to extreme t emperature or high humidity .
General not es on safe ty 8 W ARNING Hazard of explosion! Do no t use your hearing instruments in areas where ther e is a danger of explosions (e.g. min- ing). NOTICE Leaking batteries damage the hearing instruments. T urn the hearing instruments off when not in use to pr eser ve the battery .
Handling of standard and rechar geable batteries 9 original size Alwa ys use the right size of batteries. Char ge the rechar geable batteries bef ore fi rst use. Remo ve the tab on standard batteries only when you are r eady to use them. The positiv e (+) side of the batteries is alwa ys the smooth side.

Insert the proper size battery . Make sur e that the "+" symbol on the battery points up as shown in the picture Close the batt er y compartment.
Handling of standard and rechar geable batteries 11 Removing the battery Open the batt er y compartment com- plet ely . Normally the battery drops out when the compartment is completely open. If the batt er y does not come out, lightly tap the instrument or use the magnet stick available as acces sor y to r emove the battery.
Inserting and removing your hearing instrument 12 For side recognition ask y our Hearing Care Prof essional t o apply colored mark ers in the bat- tery compar tment. If the marker in the battery compartment is in red, the hearing instrument is intended f or the right ear .

Maintenance and car e 19 Domes and receiver molds C AUTION Risk of injur y caused by incorrect use of r eceiver unit and domes/receiver molds. Alwa ys wear the receiver unit with a dome or receiver mold. Mak e sure that the dome/receiver mold is com- plet ely attached to the receiv er unit.
Maintenance and car e 20 Y our hearing instruments hav e one of the follo wing ear pieces: Single dome Double dome Receiver mold Cleaning domes and receiver molds Cerumen (ear wax) on the dome/ receiv er mold affects sound quality . Clean domes/ r eceiver molds right after taking the hearing instruments off.
Maintenance and car e 21 Exc hanging domes The packaging of y our dome has a slot on one side t o remov e the dome from the r eceiver . Insert the receiver int o the slot of the dome packaging. Hold the dome tight while tilting the receiver t owards the packag- ing (ref er to the pictur e).
