11 SETTING THE CLOCK When the o ven is rst plugged in, the display will sho w “:0” and a tone will sound. If the A C power e ver goes of f, the displa y show “ : 0” when the power comes back on. 1 . T ouch the CLOCK pad. This is a 1 2 hour clock sy stem.
12 NOTE: Y our ov en can be pr ogrammed for 0.5lb . ~ 6.5lb . in W eight defrosting mode. WEIGHT DEFROSTING When DEFR OST is selected, the aut omatic cycle divides the defr osting time into periods of alternating defrost and stand times b y cycling on and of f.

17 T ur n the ov en off bef ore cleaning . K eep the inside of the oven clean. When food spat ters or spilled liquids adher e to o ven walls , wipe with a damp cloth. Mild detergent ma y be used if the ov en gets very dir t y . The use of har sh detergent or abrasiv es is not recommended.
18 CARE AND CLEANING Although your o ven is pro vided with safety f eatures, it is impor tant t o obser ve the f ollowing: 1 . It is impor tant not to defeat or tamper with saf et y interlocks . 2. Do not place any object between the ov en front f ace and the door or allow residue to accumulat e on sealing surf aces.
19 * Q : I accidentally ran my microwave oven without any food in it. Is it damaged? * A : Running the ov en empty for a shor t time will not damage the oven. Howe ver , it is not recommended. * Q : Can the oven be used with the glass tray or roller guide removed? * A : No .
20 UTENSIL GUIDE Only use ut ensils that are suitab le for use in micr owa ve ov ens. T o cook food in the micr owav e ov en, the microw av es must be able to penetr ate the f ood, without being re ected or absorbed b y the dish used. Care must theref ore be taken choosing the ut ensil.
21 ARCING If you see arcing, open the door and correct the problem. Arcing is the micr owa ve t er m for sparks in the ov en. Arcing is caused b y: • Metal or f oil touching the side of the ov en. • Foil not molded to food (uptur ned edges act lik e antennas).
22 Then the y pass through the cooking containers to be absorbed by the water molecules in the f ood, all f oods contain water t o a more or lesser e xtent. The micr owa ves cause the wat er molecules t o vibrat e which causes FRICTION, i.e. HEA T . This heat then cooks the f ood.
23 ST ANDING TIME Dense foods e.g. meat, jac ket potatoes and cak es, requir e standing time(inside or outside of the ov en) aft er cooking, to allo w heat to finish conducting t o cook the center complet ely . W rap meat joints and jack et potatoes in aluminium f oil while standing.
24 DEFROSTING GUIDE ▶ Do not defrost cov ered meat. Cov er ing might allow cooking to t ake place. Alwa ys r emov e outer wrap and tra y . Use only container s that are micro wav e-safe . ▶ Begin defr osting whole poultr y breast-side-down. Begin defrosting r oasts fat-side-do wn.
