12 Modulati on display of th e receiving transmitter The level di splay for audio si gnal “AF” shows the modul ation of the tra nsmit- ter. When the transmitter’s au dio input level is excessively high (AF peak), the rec eive r’s le ve l dis play for audio si gnal “AF” shows full deflection.
13 Indications and displays o n the trans mitters Operatio n and battery st atus indication The red LED (LOW BA T/ON) provides info rmation on the current operating state of the tra nsmitter: Red LED lit up: The transm itter is switch ed on and th e capacit y of the batteries/ac cupack BA 201 5 is sufficient .
14 Preparing the components for use EM 100 G2 rack-mount receiver Mounting the receiver feet T o ensure that th e receiver cannot slip on the surface on which it is placed, four self-adhesive sof t rubber feet are supplied. Ensure that the base of the receiver is c lean before mounting the rubber feet.
15 Connecting the a mplifier/mixing console The EM 100 G2’s audio out puts are availab le as an XLR-3M socket and a ¼” (6.3 mm ) jack socke t , allowing you to simultaneous ly connec t two units (e.g. ampl ifier, mix ing console). Th e adjusted audio ou tput level is com- mon for both so ckets.
16 T o moun t two EM 100 G2 in to a r ack: Place the two receivers side by side onto a flat sur- face, their bottom sides facing upwards. Align th e connecting pla te # over the h oles in the bottom sides of the receiver s. Secure the connecting plate # to the rece ivers using eight of the supplied recessed head screws (M 3x6).
17 EK 100 G2 bodypack receiver Inserting and repl acing the bat teries For powering the EK 100 G2 bodypack receiver, you can either use two 1.5 V AA size batteries o r the rechargeable Sen nheiser BA 2015 acc upack. Press the two unlocking buttons and open the battery compartment cover .
18 Mounting the b odypack receiver to a camera Use the supplied cam era kit to mount the receiver t o the camera’s fla sh moun t. The camer a kit cons its of: y 1 perfo rated pl ate y 1 flas h m.
19 Attaching the microp hones Use the microphone clips ! to attach th e ME 2 and ME 4 clip -on mic ro- phones to clot hing (e.g. ti e, lapel). Adjust the M E 3 headmic so that a c omfortable and secure fit is en sured. Positioning the microphones The ME 3 and ME 4 microphones are dire ctional microphones, i.
20 Pluggin g the plug-on trans mitter onto a microphone Plug the tr ansmitter ’s XLR-3F so cket ' onto the microphone’s XLR-3M socket. Tighten the locking ring ( as shown in the diagram on the lef t .
21 Changing t he microphone head First remove the bat teries/accupack as described above a nd leave the radiom icro phone op en. Unscrew the sound inlet basket. Loose n th e scr ew an d pu t it t o one side . Gently ease the capsule out of the contacts and th en pull it out of the hou- sing as show n.
22 Using the components Switch ing the compon ents on/o ff The ew 100 G2 transmitters and receivers can only be switched off when the standard display is shown on the disp la y panel . 23 Switching the radio microphone on/off T urn the protective cap * at the botto m of th e radiomicr ophone so that the ON / OFF button becomes accessible. Press the ON / OFF button to sw itch the radiom icrophon e on. The red LED lights up.
24 Attaching the components to clothi ng Attaching the bodypack rece iver/trans mitter t o clothing The bodypack receiver/transmitt er is attached t o clothing (e.g. belt, waist- band) with the supplied belt cl ip. The cl ip is d etach able so that y ou can a lso at tach th e bodyp ack rec eiver/ transmi tter with the ante nna pointing d ownwards.
25 The operating menu A special feature of the Sennheiser ew 100 G2 series is the si milar, intuitiv e operatio n. As a result, the units are easy to operate and adjustments to the setti ngs can be made qu ickly and “with out looking” – even in stressful situati - ons, for exampl e on stage or duri ng a live show or presen tation.

32 Starting the scan and storing the scan result Before starting the scan, switch all transmitters of your system off, since channels used by switched-o n transmitt ers will not be displayed as “free channe ls”. Select the “ SCAN ” me nu.

34 IMPORT ANT! Notes: If the squelch threshold is adjusted too high, the transmission range wi ll be reduced. Therefore, always adjust t he squelch threshold to the lowest possible setting.
35 Loading the factory-preset d efault setting s RESET Via the “ RESET ” menu, you can load the factory-preset default settings. Only the selected setting for the pilot tone remains unchan ged. Af ter the reset, the unit is restarted and the standard di splay is sh own on the display panel.
