5 All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the product is operated. Read all of the instructions given here and retain them for later use. Unplug this projector from A C power supply before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
6 Openings in the cabinet are provided f or v entilation. T o ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from ov erheating , these openings must not be bloc ked or co vered. CA UTION Hot air is exhausted from the e xhaust v ent. When using or installing the projector , the follo wing precautions should be taken.
7 Use the projector properly in specified positions. Improper positioning may reduce the lamp lif e and result in sev ere accident or fire hazard. This projector can project the pict ure in upward, down ward, or inclined position in perpendicular direction to the horizontal plane.
8 Moving the Projector Use the handle grip when moving the projector . Retract the adjustable f eet to prevent damage to the lens and cabinet when carr ying. When this projector is not in use for an e xtended period, put it into a suitable case to protect the projector .
9 AC P ow er Cord for the Unit ed Kingdom: This cord is already fit ted with a moulded plug incorporating a fuse, the value of whic h is indicated on the pin face of the plug. Should the fuse need to be replaced, an AST A approved BS 1 362 fuse must be used of the same rating , marked thus A S A .

16 Remote Control Battery Installation 1 2 3 Open the bat ter y compartment lid. Install new bat teries into the compartment. Replace the compartment lid. Press the lid do wnw ard and slide it. T wo AAA size bat ter ies F or correct polarity (+ and –), be sure bat tery terminals are in contact with pins in the compartment.
17 The eight dif f erent remote control codes (Code 1–Code 8) are assigned to this projector . Switc hing the remote control codes prev ents interference from other remote controls when se v eral projectors or video equipment next to eac h other are operated at the same time.
18 AD JUST ABLE FEET Projection angle can be adjusted up to 6.5 degrees with the adjustable feet. Rotate the adjustable feet and tilt the projector to the proper height; to raise the projector , rotate the both feet cloc kwise. T o low er the projector or to retract the adjustable feet, rotate the both f eet countercloc kwise.

26 T urning On the Projector Connect the projector’ s A C pow er cord into an A C outlet. The LAMP/SHU TTER indicator lights red and the PO WER indicator lights green. Press the ON/S T AND-B Y but ton on the side control or the ON but ton on the remote control.

30 Operating with Projector Control The f ollowing lens operation can be made with the Lens but ton on the side control. Press the LENS but ton to enter eac h lens operation mode. The selected adjustment displa y appears on the screen. Display “L ens shif t” on the screen.

32 Operating with Remote Control Using the remote control for some frequently used operations is advisable. J ust pressing one of the but tons enables you to mak e the desired operation quic kly without calling up the On-Screen Menu. Press the ZO OM but tons on the remote control to zoom in and out the image.

38 Computer System Selection This projector automatically t unes to various types of computers based on V GA, S V GA, XG A, SXGA, SXG A+, WXGA, or UXG A (refer to “Compatible Computer Specifications” on pages 78–79).
39 Auto PC Adjustment A uto PC Adjustment function is provided to automatically adjust Fine sync, T otal dots, Horizontal and V ertical positions to conform to y our computer . 40 Manual PC Adjustment Some computers employ special signal f ormats whic h may not be t uned by Multi-Scan system of this projector . Manual PC Adjustment enables y ou to precisely adjust se veral parameters to matc h those special signal f ormats. The projector has 1 0 independent memor y areas to store those parameters manually adjusted.
41 Exit the PC A djust Menu. T o store the adjusted data, select Store and then press the SELECT but ton. Move the red ar row pointer to one of the Mode 1 to 1 0 in whic h you want to store, and then press the SELECT but ton. T o reset the adjusted dat a, select Reset and press the SELECT but ton.

59 Lamp counter This function is used to reset the lamp counter . When the lamp lif e reac hes a recommended lamp replacement time, the time shown in the dialog bo x t urns red and the Lamp replacement icon appears on the screen, indicating that the end of lamp lif e is approac hing .

61 Filter Instructions Filter prev ents dust from accumulating on the optical elements inside the projector . Should the filter becomes clogged with dust particles, it will reduce cooling fans ’ ef f ectiveness and ma y result in internal heat buildup and adversely af f ect the life of the projector .
