5 Saf ety Instr uctions All the saf ety and operating instructions should be read before the product is operated. Read all of the instructions given here and ret ain them for later use. Unplug this projector from A C pow er supply before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
6 Saf ety Instr uctions Mo ving the Project or When the projector is not in use for an extended period, put it into a suitable case. Handle the projector carefully; do not drop, bump, subject it to strong forces, or put other things on the cabinet. Openings in the cabinet are pro vided for ventilation.
7 Do not roll the projector more than 1 0 degrees from side to side. Do not put the projector on either side C or E to project an image. Install the projector properly .
Compliance AC P ow er Cord for the Unit ed Kingdom: This cord is already fit ted with a moulded plug incorporating a fuse, the value of whic h is indicated on the pin face of the plug . NO TE ON THE POWER CORD A C pow er cord must meet the requirements of the countr y where y ou use the projector . Confirm the A C plug t ype with the c hart below and proper A C pow er cord must be used. If the supplied A C pow er cord does not matc h your A C outlet, cont act your sales dealer .
Connect the projector’ s A C power cord into an A C outlet. The PO WER indicator turns red. Press the ON/S T AND-B Y but ton on the remote control. The PO WER indicator becomes green and the cooling fans start to operate. The preparation displa y appears on the screen and the count down starts.

V ideo Input This projector has the pict ure screen resize function, whic h enables you to customize the image siz e. Press the MENU but ton to display the On-Screen Menu. Use the P oint 7 8 but tons to mov e the red frame pointer to the Screen Menu icon.

Display Blue back Press the P oint 7 8 but tons to switc h on/of f . When this function is “ On, ” a blue image is display ed while the input signal is not detected. Press the P oint 7 8 but tons to switc h on/of f . This function decides to display the On-Screen Displa ys.
Set ting Captur e This function enables y ou to capt ure the image being projected and use it for a start-up display or interval of presentations. Af ter capturing the projected image, go to the L ogo select function and set it to “User .

Set ting Ceiling Rear Ceiling When this function is set to “ On, ” the picture is top/bot tom and lef t/right reversed. This function is used to project the image from a ceiling-mounted projector . Rear When this function is set to “ On, ” the picture is lef t/right rev ersed.
Set ting P ow er management Time lef t before Lamp is of f . Press the SELECT but ton at P ower management and this box appears. Select one of three set tings with the P oint 7 8 but tons, and go to the timer with the P oint ed but tons and set time with the P oint 7 8 but tons.
50 Set ting Remote contr ol This projector pro vides two dif ferent remote control codes; the factory-set, initial code (Code 1) and the secondar y code (Code 2). This switc hing function prev ents remote control interf erence when sev eral projectors or video equipment are operated at the same time.
51 Set ting Enter a PIN code Select a number by pressing the P oint ed but tons. And then press the P oint 8 but ton to fix the number and mov e the pointer .
Set ting 52 Lamp counter F actory def ault This function returns all set ting values ex cept for the user logo, PIN code loc k, Logo PIN code loc k, the lamp counter , and the filter counter to the factory default set tings. Select Factory default and this box appears.
Ho w to Use the Antitheft Alar m Function Antithef t alarm function is provided to prevent the projector from be ing stolen. When this function is set to “ On, ” the alarm rings as an unauthorized person tries to mo ve the projector . T o activate the Alarm function for the first time af ter purc hase, you must t urn on the pow er once.

Char ge the built-in bat ter ies Set the B at ter y c harge option in the Alarm set ting menu to “ Auto. ” The def ault set ting is “ Auto. ” As long as the A C pow er cord is connected and this option is set to “ Auto, ” the built-in bat ter y f or Alarm function is being c harged at all times.

T urn ov er the projector and remov e the air filter by pulling the latc hes upward. 1 2 The air filter pre vents dust from accumulating on the surf ace of the optical elements inside the projector .
Maint enance and Cleaning Cleaning the Pr ojector Cabinet Unplug the A C power cord bef ore cleaning . Gently wipe the projector body with a sof t dr y cleaning cloth. When it is heavily soiled, use a small amount of mild detergent and finish with the cleaning cloth.
Maint enance and Cleaning When the projection lamp of the projector reac hes its end of lif e, the Lamp replacement icon appears on the screen and LAMP REPLA CE indicator lights yellow . Replace the lamp with a new one promptly . The timing when the LAMP REPLA CE indicator should light is depending on the lamp mode.
Maint enance and Cleaning Be sure to reset the Lamp replacement counter af ter the lamp is replaced. When the Lamp replacement counter is reset, the LAMP REPLA CE indicator stops lighting . T urn the projector on and press the MENU but ton to display the On-Screen Menu.
T r oubleshooting Bef ore calling your dealer or service center for assistance, c hec k the items below once again. – Make sure y ou hav e properly connected the projector to peripheral equipment as described on pages 1 5–1 7 . – Make sure all equipment is connected to the A C outlet and the power is t urned on.
Appendix Image is out of f ocus. – Adjust f ocus of the projector (see page 23). – Provide proper distance between the projector and the projection screen (see page 1 4).
