7. FUNCTIONS 7-1. Operation Functions Emergency operation SENSOR DR Y During DRY operation, the system adjusts the room temperature and fan speed according to the conditions in the room, in order to maintain a comfortable room environment. SENSOR DR Y operation DRY operation is as shown in the figure below .
HIGH PO WER NIGHT SETB A CK Lamp colors Timer backup This function acts to raise the power but keeps the AC system in the same operating mode. This function is set with the HIGH POWER button on the remote controller . (It can be set regardless of the temperature and fan speed settings.
Freeze prevention During COOL or DRY operation, freezing is detected and operation is stopped when the temperature of the indoor heat exchanger matches the conditions below . 1. Freeze-prevention operation is engaged when the temperature of the indoor heat exchanger is below 43°F(6°C).

19 Using the 1-Hour OFF Timer Tips f or Energ y Sa ving 1. 1-Hour OFF Timer This function causes the unit to operate f or one hour and then st op, regard less of whether the unit is on or off when this b utton is pressed. The indicator in the displa y indicates that this functi on is operating.
20 Adjusting the Airflo w Direction 1. Horizontal The horizontal airflo w can be adjusted b y moving the v er tical v anes with y our hands to the left or right. When the humidity is high, the vertical va nes should be in the front position during the cooling or dehumidifying operation.
21 Oper ation without the Remote Control Unit Care and Cleaning INDOOR UNIT If y ou hav e lost the remo te control un it or it has troub le, f ollow the steps below . When the air conditi oner is not running Each time the OPERA TION butt on is pressed, the operatio n mode changes cyclically .
22 Care and Cleaning (continued) Anti-Mold Filter The anti-mold filter behind the air intake grille should be ch ec ked and cleaned at least once e ve r y two weeks . How to remove the anti-mold filter 1. Grasp both ends of the air intake grille, and remo ve it by opening to wards the f ront and pulling tow ards you.
23 Care and Cleaning (continued) Air Clean Filt er The air clean filter re mov es dust and dir t from the air , and reduces odors and smoke from tobacco. This air clean filter cannot remove harmfu l gases or vapor s nor ventilate air in the room. Y ou must open doors or windows frequently when y ou use gas or oil heating appliance s.

10 3-5. Shape the Indoor Side T ubing (1) Arrangement of tubing b y directions a) Right or left tubing Cut out the cor ner of the right/left frame with a hacksa w or the like . (Figs. 20 and 21) b) Right-rear or left-rear tubing In this case, the corner of the frame need not be cut.
11 3-7. Wiring Instructions for Inter -unit Connections (1) Inser t the inter-unit wir ing (according to local codes) into the through-the-wall PVC pipe . Run the wir ing tow ard the indoor side allowing appro x. 10" (25 cm) to e xtend from the wall f ace.
12 When connecting each power wire to the corresponding terminal, follow the instructions “How to connect wiring to the ter minal” and f asten the wire securely tight with the fixing screw of the terminal plate.
13 3-8. Mounting (1) T o install the indoor unit, mount the indoor unit onto the 2 tabs on the upper par t of the rear plate. (2) Hold down the air discharge outlet and press the lower part of the indoor unit until it clicks to securely f asten to the 2 tabs on the lower par t of the rear plate.

17 5 . Remote Contr ol Unit Installation P osition The remote control unit can be operated from either a non-fix ed position or a wall-mounted position.
18 6. Address Switch 6-1. Address Setting of the Remote Contr ol Unit The address can be set in order to pre vent interf erence between remote controllers when two San yo indoor units are installed near each other . The address is normally set to “A.
19 7 . Connecting a Home A utomation de vice The HA (white) 4P ter minal is located on the indoor unit PCB . If a HA device will be used, connect it to this ter minal. 8. Installation Check Sheet The strength of the installation location is sufficient to suppor t the A/C weight.
