Emergency operation Emergency operation is available when the remote controller malfunctions, has been lost, or otherwise cannot be used. • The set temperature is 4°F(2°C) below the detected room temperature in the case of cooling operation.
HIGH POWER NIGHT SETBACK Lamp colors Ti mer backup This function acts to raise the power but keeps the AC system in the same operating mode. This function is set with the HIGH POWER button on the remote controller . (It can be set regardless of the temperature and fan speed settings.
The noise reducing control is the function used for silent operation of the air conditioner by means of setting the dip switch on the outdoor unit P.C.
The maximum current value is changed to 14A (for C3082) or 17A (for C3682) to prevent power breaker tripping. (It is set to 24A when the unit is delivered from the factory.) <Maximum Current Value Change Procedure> (1) Remove the inspection panel.
Compressor discharge temperature control Freeze prevention During COOL or D RY operation, freezing is detected and operation is stopped when the temperature of the indoor heat exchanger matches the conditions below . 1. Freeze-prevention operation is engaged when the temperature of the indoor heat exchanger is below 41°F(5°C).
8. TROUBLESHOOTING 8-1. Precautions before Performing Inspection or Repair NOTE After checking the self-diagnostics monitor , turn the power OFF before starting inspection or repair . High-capacity electrolytic capacitors are used inside the outdoor unit controller (inverter).

(3-2) Alarm Code : E07/P04/P05/P20/P27 T roubleshooting Serial Communication 1. T urn off the power and wait until the power lamp (LED) of the outdoor unit controller is turned OFF . 2. Disconnect the cable from the terminal 3 on the indoor unit terminal strip.
[T rouble symptom 3] Motor rotates for some time (several seconds), but then quickly stops, when the indoor unit operates. (There is trouble in the system that provides feedback of motor rotation speed from the motor to the indoor unit controller .
8-4-2. Outdoor Fan Motor This outdoor DC fan motor contains an internal control PCB. Therefore, it is not possible to measure the coil resistance, and the following procedure should be used to check the motor . Perform the trouble diagnosis by T est Run mode described on Installation Instructions of indoor unit.
8-5. Noise Malfunction and Electromagnetic Interference An inverter A/C operates using pulse signal control and high frequencies. Therefore, it is susceptible to the effects of external noise, and is likely to cause electromagnetic interference with nearby wireless devices.

Tubing precautions Refrigerant R410A is more easily affected by dust or moisture compared with R22, thus be sure to temporarily cover the ends of the tubing with caps or tape prior to installation. Never use 0.0276" (0.7 mm)-thick copper tubing or tubing which is less than 0.

12 SPECIAL REMARKS How it works? • Once the room tempera ture reaches the le vel that w as set, the unit’ s oper ation frequency is changed automat ically . • During DR Y operation, the fan speed aut omatically runs at lower speed for providing a comfor table breeze.

14 USING THE 1-HOUR OFF TIMER 1. 1-Hour OFF Timer This function causes the unit to operate for one hour and then stop, regar dless of whethe r the unit is on or off when this button is pressed. The indicator i n the displa y indicates t hat this function i s operating.
15 • Use the FLAP button on th e remote control to adjust the position of the flap . If you mo ve the flap by hand, the flap position accor ding to the remote contr ol and the actual flap position ma y no lon ger match.
16 How to install the air c lean filter The air clean filter needs to be installed behind the anti-mold f ilter . 1. Open the front pane l and remove t he anti-mold filter . 2. Remov e the air fi lter holder from th e anti-mold filter . 3. Install the ai r clean filter in the air filter holder .

3-4. Removing and Installing the Grille Basically , these models can be installed and wired with- out removing the grille. If access to any internal par t is needed, f ollow the steps as giv en below .

18 When connecting each power wire to the corresponding terminal, follow the instructions “How to connect wiring to the ter minal” and f asten the wire securely tight with the fixing screw of the terminal plate.
19 3-9. Mounting (1) T o install the indoor unit, mount the indoor unit onto the 3 tabs on the upper par t of the rear plate. (2) Hold down the air discharge outlet and press the lower part of the indoor unit until it clicks to securely f asten to the 2 tabs on the lower par t of the rear plate.

23 5. Refrigerant T ubing 5-1. Use of the Flaring Method Many of the con ventional split system air conditioners emplo y the flaring method to connect refr igerant tubes which run between indoor and outdoor units. In this method, the copper tubes are flared at each end and connected with flare nuts.
