ENG-11 Chapter 2 C ONNECTIONS Connecting the Antenna Cable There are several ways to connect your DVD-VCR. Select one of the following antenna connections that best suits you below .
ENG-12 C ONNECTIONS Method2: Antenna + DVD-VCR + TV : Cable box with many scrambled channels Y ou can record channels by selecting the channel on the cable box. Y ou cannot record one channel while watching another channel. Be sure that the cable box is turned on.

Most DVD discs are recorded in chapters so that you can quickly find a specific passage (similar to tracks on an audio CD).

ENG-40 DVD O PERA TIONS If you are using a 4:3 TV For 16:9 aspect ratio discs - 4:3 Letter Box Displays the content of the DVD title in 16:9 aspect ratio. The black bars will appear at the top and bottom of the screen. - 4:3 Pan Scan The left and right portions of the screen are cut off and the central portion of the 16:9 screen is displayed.

If cards are inserted in both slots, the Compact Flash or Micro Drive in the the lower slot has priority .
ENG-47 DVD O PERA TIONS Clips Menu for MP3/WMA/JPEG Discs with MP3/WMA/JPEG contain individual songs and/or pictures that can be organized into folders as shown below . They are similar to how you use your computer to put files into different folders.

ENG-52 DVD O PERA TIONS JPEG Discs When playing a CD-R/Memory Card/Picture CD - Only files with the “.jpg” and “.JPG” extensions can be played. - If the disc is not closed, it will take longer to start playing and not all of the recorded files may be played.

ENG-75 VCR O PERA TIONS If you wish to protect a cassette, break off the tab using a small screwdriver . To re-record over a protected cassette (safety tab broken), cover the hole with adhesive tape. Basic Recording Y ou can record a TV show in progress by inserting a blank tape and pressing the REC button.
ENG-76 VCR O PERA TIONS Special Recording Features While a recording is in progress, you can watch a different channel or a DVD, or add recording time in 30- minute increments. To W atch a different Channel while Recording 3 Press the REC button on the remote control or front panel.
ENG-77 VCR O PERA TIONS To W atch a DVD while Recording Insert a DVD in the DVD tray and press the (Play/Pause). The output will automatically change to the DVD.
ENG-78 VCR O PERA TIONS 4 While in Record mode, press the REC button again to activate One-T ouch Recording (OTR). Record length 0:30 appears on the On-screen display and the DVD-VCR will record for exactly 30 minutes. Press the SPEED button on the remote control to select the Record Speed.
ENG-79 VCR O PERA TIONS Using a Timer Recording Insert a blank videotape into the VCR deck. Be sure to leave the Record Safety T ab intact. With the T imer Recording function, you can program up to 7 events at a time to record up to a month in advance.
