4 SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES ■ Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its cord. Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the operator.

7 UNP ACKING INSTRUCTIONS This tool has been shipped completely assembled except for the blade. ■ Carefully remove the tool and accessories from the box. ■ Make sure that all items listed in the packing list are included. ■ Inspect the tool carefullshy to make sure no break- age or damage occurred during shipping.

WARNING: Exercise caution when using this tool. Careless actions, for even a fraction of a second, can result in serious personal injury.
9 ASSEMBLY W ARNING: The tool should never be connected to a power supply when you are assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, performing maintenance, or when the tool is not in use. Disconnecting the tool will prevent accidental starting that could cause serious injury .

11 Fig. 5 OPERA TION Splinter-Free Cutting See Figure 4. This saw has a splinter guard to permit splinter-free cut- ting. It is especially useful when cutting plywood. This feature should only be used when making straight cuts or circle cuts. It is not for bevel cutting or plunge cutting.

W ARNING: Do not insert saw blade or hex key into air vents. They could come in contact with electrically live internal parts, and cause electrical shock result- ing in serious injury.

14 Angle Cutting (Bevel Cutting) See Figures 11 and 12. Bevel cutting angles may be adjusted from 0 ° to 45 ° right or left. Angles for cuts from 0 ° to 45 ° in 15 ° increments are marked on a scale on both the left and right side of the base.
15 OPERA TION Plunge Cutting See Figure 13, 14 and 15. W ARNING: To avoid loss of control, broken blades, or dam- age to the material being cut, always use extreme caution when making plunge cuts. We do not recommend plunge cutting on materials other than wood.
OPERA TION Dustless Feature See Figure 16. For dustless operation, a vacuum attachment has been provided with the saw. It attaches to the saw base. WARNING: The jig saw should never be connected to a power supply when you are assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, performing maintenance, or when the tool is not in use.
