1. Description This manual applies to the REHVD0309-1 network ca mera. The network Camer a provides a network service fo r a progressive-sc an image sensor that can be monit ored on a rea l-time scre en regardl ess of dis t ance or location.
1.2 Key Features • Brilliant video quality The Network Camera of fers the highly eff icien t H.264 video compression, which dr astically reduces bandwidth and stor age requirements with out compromising image quality . Motion JPEG is also supported f or increased flexibility .
2. Installation For the oper ation of the Network Camera, it is n ecessary to connect a network cable for data transmi ssion, power connection f rom supplied power adapter . Depe nding on operation method s, it is possible to connect an additional alarm c able.
Base Installation 1. Make mounting holes and cable hole in the place (c eiling) to which this dome camera i s installed using the supplied template sheet. Warning : The total mass of the main unit is appr ox 1.3kg. Check whether the ceiling to which the Dome Camer a is installed is strong enough to hold the unit mass .

2. Start SmartManager utility (Start>All Prog r ams>SmartManager>SmartManager), the main window will be displayed, after a short while an y network devices connected to the network will be displayed in the list. 3. Select the camer a on the list and click right button of the mouse.
3. Operation The Network Camer a can be used with Windows oper ating system and browser s. The recommended browsers are Internet Explorer, S afari, Fire fox, Opera and Google Chrome for Windows. Note: T o view streaming video in Microsoft Internet Explor er , set your browser to allow ActiveX controls.
3.2. Access from the internet Once connected the Network Camera on your loca l network (LAN) will be accessible via internet. To access the network c amer a from the Internet yo u must configure your broadband router to allow incoming data traffic to the network camer a.

3.5 Network Camera Setup This section describe s how to conf igure the network camer a, and is intended for pr oduct Administrators, who h ave unrestrict ed access to all the Setup tools; and Oper ators, who have acce ss to the setting s for Basic, Liv e View , Video & Image, Audio , Event, an d System Conf iguration .
1) Users User access control is enabled by def ault. An admi nistrator can set up other users, by giving these user names and password s. It is also possible to allow anonymou s viewer login, which me.
• Obtain IP address via DHCP - Dynamic Host Configuration Pro tocol (DHCP) is a protocol that lets network administrator s centrally manage and autom ate the assignment of IP addresses on a network.
3) Video & Image • Stream1 Setting - Codec: The codec settings are separated into MPEG4 and H.2 64. H.264 is a lso known as MPEG-4 Part 10. This is the ne w generation compression standard f or digital video.
* MPEG4 ASP(Advanced Simple Profile): Its notable technical featur es relative to the Si mple Prof ile, which is roughly similar to H.263, including "MPEG"-style quantization , interlaced video, B pictures (also known as B Fr ames), Quarter Pixel motion c ompensation (Qpel), Global motion c ompensation (GMC).
- JPEG frame rate: Same as the Stream1 Setti ng. - JPEG quality: Select the picture quality . If users want to have a high quality of f ast image one by one, please decrease the v alue. For the purpose of gener al monitoring, please do not change a basic v alue.
- Sample rate: Select the required Sample rate (number of times p er second the sound is sampled). Th e higher the sample rate, th e better the audio quality and the gr eater the bandwidth required. - Sound bitrate: Depending on the selected encoding, set the de sir ed audio quality (bitr ate).
5) Date & Time • Current Server Time It displays the current date and time (24h clock) . The time can be displayed in 12h clock format in the overlay (see below).

Appearance • Image Appearance This page provides access to the adv anced image settings for the network camer a. - Brightness: The image brightness can be adjusted in the range 1-10, where a higher value produces a brighter image. - Color level: Select an appropriate level by entering a value in the range 1-10.
AE & AWB This page provides access to set the exposure and white balance of the network camera. • Exposure Control Configure the exposure settings to suit the im age quality requirements in relation to lighting consideration.
• White Balance Control This adjusts the r elative amount of red , green and blue primary colors in the image so that the neutral colors are reproduc ed correctly . The camer a can be set to automatically adjust for the type of light and compensate for its color .
Privacy Masking - Basic The privacy masking function allows yo u to mask pa rts of the video image to be transmi tted. You can set up to eight privacy masks and the color of privacy mask s is black. The priv acy masks are c onf igured by Mask windows.
Webcasting The network camera can stream live video to a we bsite. Copies the HTML code generated on the screen and paste it in page code of th e website you want to display live video. Note: To use webcasting service, the Enable Anonymous viewer login option mu st be checked.

3.5.4 Event 1) Event-In On Boot This i s used to trigger the event ev ery time the Network Camer a is started. Select “Enabl e” to activate the motion event.
Alarm In Select “Enabl e” to activate the alarm event. The network camera supports 1 alarm input port. - Type: Choose the type of alarm you wish to use from the drop-down list. - Dwell Time: Set the dwell time of an event lasts f o r t he specif ied dwell time from the point of detection of an alarm input.
Manual Trigger This option makes use of t he manual trigger button pr ovided on the live view page, which is used to start or stop the ev ent type manually . Alternatively the event can be trigger ed via the product's API (Application Progr amming Interface).
Motion Moti on detection is used to generate an alarm wh enever movemen t occurs (or stops) in the video image. A total of 8 Motion and/or Mask windows can be cr eated and conf igured. Motion is detected in def ined Motion windows, which are placed in the video image to target specif ic areas.
• Motion Detection Setting The behavior f or each window is def ined by adjusting the Threshold and Sensitivity , as described below . A motion index is a set of par ameters describing Window Name, T ype, Threshold, Sensitivit y , and Dwell Time. Window T ypes is one of Motion and Mask windows.
2) Event-Out SMTP(E-Mail) The Net work Camera c an be conf igured to send event and error email message s via SMTP (Simple Mail T ran sfer Protoc ol).
- Login Method: Set the Weakest method allowed to the highest/safest meth od supported by the mail server. The most secure method is listed in the drop-down list: L o g i n / P l a i n • SMTP(E-Mail) Receiver - Receiver: Enter an email address. Y ou can also regi ster th e e-mail address of r ecipients up to 8.
- Remote directory: Specify the path to the directory where the uploaded imag es will be stored. If this directory does not already exist on the FTP server , there will be an error message when uploading. - User name/Password: Provide your log-in information.
• HTTP Server Setting - Name: The name of the HTTP event server. Use a de scriptive name. - URL: The network address to the server and th e script that will handle the request. For example: http://192.168.12.244/cgi-bin/upload.cgi - User name/Password: Provide your log-in information.
▼ Audio Alert When th e network camer a detects an ev ent, it can ou tput a predef ined audio data f ile to an external speaker . Check the box to enable the service. • Audio Alert Setting To use the audio alert wi th the Network camera, an audio data file made by user must be uploaded from your PC.
Audio Recorder T o use the Audio Recor der tool to make an audio f ile for Au dio Alert function, y ou must install the Revo Remote Pro HD progr am on the installation CD at f irst.
When th e network camer a detects an ev ent, it can re cord the video st ream to t he Micro S D card (not supplied) or NAS (Network Attached Device) as a st or age device. Check the bo x to enable the service. • Record Setting - Overwrite: Click checkbox to overwrite the storage device.
Note2: Network File System (NFS) is a network file system protocol, all owing a user on a client computer to access files over a network in a manner similar to how local storage is accessed. NF S, like many other protocols, builds on the Open Network Computing Remote Procedure Cal l (ONC RPC) system.
3) Event Map The e vent map allows y ou to change the set tings and establish a schedule f or each event trigger from the Network Camer a. Y ou can register t he event map up to max. 1 5. Click Add button to make a new ev ent map and the f ollowing popup window will be displayed.
• General Enter the name for a new event map . • Event In Select an event type in the drop down list. • Event Out - E-mail: Select email addresses you want to send via email that an event has oc curred. - FTP: Select checkbox beside FTP to record and sav es images to an FTP server when an event has occurred.
2) Security Users User acce ss control is enabled by def ault, when the administrator sets the r oot password on f irst access. New users ar e authorized with user names an d passwor ds, or the ad.
HTTPS For greater security, th e Network Camera can be configured to use HT TPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol over SSL (Secure Socket L ayer)). That is, all communication that would otherwise go via HTTP will instead go via an encrypted HTTPS connection.
IP Filtering Checking the Enab le IP address filtering box enables the IP address filtering function . Up to 256 IP address entries may be specified (a sin gle entry can contain multiple IP addresses). Click th e Add button to add new filtered addresses.
3) Date & Time • Current Server Time It displays the current date and time (24h clock) . The time can be displayed in 12h clock format in the overlay (see below).
4) Network Network setting par ameters can be set here. Settings for IP , DNS, Host Name, Port, and ARP /Ping can be established, along with setting f or DDN S, UPnP , QoS, Z eroconf ig, and Bonjour .
Basic • IP Address Configuration: - Obtain IP address via DHCP: Dynamic Host Config uration Protocol (DHCP) is a protocol that lets network administrators centrally manage an d automate the assignment of IP addresses on a network. DHCP is enable d by default.
DDNS • Internet DDNS(Dynamic Domain Name Service) When using the high-speed I nternet with the telephone or cable network , users can operate the Network Camer a even on the floating IP envir onment in which IPs are changed at every access. Users should receive an account and pa sswor d by visiting a DDNS service like http://www .
RTP Hav e a setting for sending and r eceiving an audio or video on a real -time basis. These settings are the IP address, port number, and Ti me-To-Live value to u se for the media stream(s) in multicast H.264 format. Only certain IP addresses and port number s should be used for multicast streams.
UPnP The Network Camera includes support for UPnP™ . UPnP™ is enabled by default, and the Network Camera then is automatically detected b y operating systems and clients th at support this pr otocol. Note: UPnP™ must be installed on your workstati o n if running Windows XP.
QoS Quality of Service (QoS) provides the m eans to guarantee a certain level of a specified resource to selected traffic on a network. Quality can be defined as a maintained level of bandwidth, low latency , and no packet losses.
• Auto Traffic Control Set a limitation on user network resource s by designating the maxi mum bandwidth. - Maximum bandwidth - In case of sharing other net work progr ams or equipment, it is possible to set a limitation on the maxim u m bandwidth in the unit of Mbit/s or kbit/s.
• NAT traversal Settings - Enabl e - when enabled, the netw ork camera at tempt to configure port mapping in a NAT router on your network, using UPnP™. Note that UPnP™ must be enabled in the Network Camera (see System>Network >UPnP). * automatic setting: The Network Camera au tomatically search for NAT routers on your n e t w o r k .
Zeroconfig Z eroconf ig allows the network camera to create and assign IP addr ess for network camer as and connect to a network automatically . Zero configur ation networking (zeroconf), is a set.
Bonjour The network camera includes support for Bonj our. When enabled , the network camera is automatically detected by operating systems and clients that support this protocol.
6) Maintenance • Maintenance Server - Restart: The unit is restarted without changing any of the settings. Use this method if the unit is not functioning properly. - Reset: The unit is restarted and most current se ttings are rese t to factory default values.
• Restore Import and apply previously stor ed user-def ined settings from a u ser PC. Note: Backup and R estore can only be used on the same unit running the same f irmware. This feature is n ot intended for multi-conf igurations or f or f irmware upgrades.
3.6 Playback The Playback window contains a list of recordin gs mad e to the memory card. It shows each recording's start time, leng th, the event type used to start the recording, calendar and time slice bar indicates if the recording is existed or not.

3.7 Help The Help information window will be pr ovided as a popup window so that u sers can open and read it without a need for log-in. I t will offer a description on set tings and Help page by which user s can manipulate the Network Ca mera without a reference t o the manual.
3.8 Resetting to the f actory default settings To reset the Network Cam era to the original factory setting s, go to the Setup>System> Main tenance web page (described in “3.
4. Appendix 4.1 Troubleshooting T roubleshooting: If problems occur , verify the insta llation of th e Network Camer a with the instructions in this manual and with other oper ating equipment. Isolate the problem to the specif ic piece of equipment in the system and ref er to the equipment manual f or further inf ormation.
