1. Before beginning any exercise program, con- sult your physician. This is especially impor- tant for persons over age 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems. 2. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
2 0. Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running. Always remove the key, unplug t he power cord, and switch the reset/off cir- cuit breaker to the off position when the t readmill is not in use. (See the drawing on page 5 for the location of the circuit breaker.

7 2. Identify the Left Upright (73) and the Right Upright (74). Se e th e i ns et d r aw in g . Tie the wire tie in the Right Upright (74) securely around the e nd of the Upright Wire (75). With the help of a second person, hold the Right Upright near the R ight Base Cover (77).

9 7. Slide the Right Upright Sleeve (96) up against the console assembly. Attach the Right Upright Sleeve with two #8 x 3/4" Screws (4). Attach the Left Upright Sleeve (not shown) to t he console assembly as described above.
10 11. Connect the wire on the Chest Pulse Receiver (not shown) to the wire extending from the con- sole assembly. Reattach the Pulse Receiver Cover (70) to the console assembly with the two #8 x 3/4" Screws (4). Make sure that no wires are pinched.
OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT THE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Y our treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- icone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.

HOW TO TU RN ON THE P OWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to c old temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power. If you do not d o this, the console displays or other electrical components may become damaged.

21 HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1. Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand. P ull the latch knob to the left and hold it. It may be neces- sary to push the frame forward as you pull the knob to t he left. Pivot the frame downward and release the latch knob.
22 TROUBLESHOOTING M ost treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
23 Lower the treadmill (see HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE on page 21). Remove the four indicated #8 x 3/4" Screws (4), and remove the Motor H ood (44). Next, locat e the Reed Switc h (20) and the Ma gnet (12) on the lef t side of the Pull ey (11).
24 PROBLEM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on SOLUTION: a. If the walki ng belt is o ff-cen ter, rem ove the key a nd U NPLUG T HE POWER C ORD.
