2 FEATURES Your RadioShack ET-007 900 MHz Handsfree Cordless Headset System gives you commu nication with both port- ability and convenience. It includes a corded base te lephone, a 900 MHz digi- tal wireless headset, a wireless headset charger and an infrared rem ote dial card.
3 Carry Strap — lets you hang the remote dial card from your neck for handsfree carrying. Your ET-007 is listed to UL stan dards and meets all applicable FCC stan- dards. READ THIS BEFORE INSTALLATION We have designed you r phone to con- form to federal regula tions and you can connect it to mo st phone lines.
4 The ET-007 also complies with the limits for a Class B device as specified in Part 15 of FCC Rules. These limits provide reasonable prot ection against rad io and TV interference in a residential ar ea. However, your ET-007 migh t cause TV or radio interfere nce even when it is op- erating properly.

6 INSTALLATION SELECTING A LOCATION You can plac e the ET-007 on a desk or table, mount it on a standard wall plat e, or mount it direct ly on a wall. Choose a location that is: • near an AC outlet .
7 4. Route the adap ter's cord through the strain relie f slot on the bottom of the phone. 5. Lift the b ase telephone's a ntenna to a vertical position . CONNECTING THE HEADSET CHARGER , WIRELESS HEADSET AND INFRARED REMOTE DIAL CARD To connect the h eadset charger, con - nect the headset char ger’s built-in AC cord to the AC outlet.
8 • The INTERCOM and HOLD in di- cators on the co rded phone stop flashing after th e headset charger and wireless headset are con - nected, even when there is no battery pack in the headset. If they flash, mo ve the headset an d charger clos er to the co rded phone.
9 3. Route t he modular c ord into the right gr oove on the moun ting bracket and rou te the AC adapter's cord into the left groove . 4. Press up on the ha ndset holder to remove it, turn it over , then slide it back down into its slot.
10 PREPARATION Follow the steps in “ Connecting the Headset Charger, Wire less Headset and Infrared Remote Dial Card” on Page 7 to install the battery in the he adse t. CHARGING THE BATTERY PACK After you inst all a battery pa ck, let the battery charge f or about 24 ho urs b ef or e you use the headset t he first time.
11 SETTING THE DIALING MODE Set TON E/ PU LS E on the bottom of the corded phone for the type of service you have, either tone or pulse (rotary). If you are not sur e which typ e you have, do this simple te st. 1. Set TONE/PULSE to TONE . 2. Lift the h andset and listen fo r a dial tone.
12 SETTING THE RINGER VO L U M E To adjust the ringer volume on the cord- ed base phone, slid e the switch on the right side of t he base to RINGER OFF , LOW or HI .
13 Listening Safely To protect your hearing , follow these guidelines when yo u use the headset. • Set the volume to th e lowest setting before you beg in listening. Afte r you begin listening, adjust the volume to a comforta ble level. • Do not listen at ext remely high vol- ume levels.
14 OPERATION MAKING AND ANSWERING CALLS Using the Handset To make a call, p ick up the handset an d dial normally. The IN USE indicator flashes when you receive a ca ll and lights while the phone is in use. Pick up the ha ndset to answer a call and place the handset on the base to end a call.
15 To switch from th e headset to the ha nd- set, press HOLD on the infrared remote dial card. The IN USE/BATT. LOW indi- cator flashe s. Pick up the handset to a n- swer the call. The headset sounds a tone if the hand set is not picked up wi th- in about 3 0 se conds.
16 USING REDIAL You can quickly dial the la st number di- aled. Wh en you heard a dial tone, press REDIAL on the corded pho ne, or on the infrared remote dial card if you want to use the headset fo r dialing. Note: The base co rded phone a nd the headset record th eir own last nu mber d i- aled.
17 USING HOLD To put a caller on hold, press HOLD . The HOLD indicator on the corded phone flashes and you can hang up the hand- set without disconnectin g the call.
18 3. Enter the numb er you want to store (up to 20 digit s can be stored ), including any pause or to ne entries (see “Entering a Pause in a Memory Number” on Pa ge 18 or “Usin g T one Service on a Pulse Lin e” on Page 17). 4. Press MEMOR Y on the base.
19 Chain-Dialing For quick recall of numbers for special services (such as b ank-by-phone or al- ternate long-dista nce), you can stor e each group of numbe rs in its own mem- ory location. Then, when calling special services, dia l the service's main number first.
20 T ROUBLESHOOTING We do not expect you to have an y problems with your p hone, but if you do, the follo w- ing suggestions might help. If you still have problems, take the phone to your local RadioShack store for assist ance. Problem Suggestion Interference is severe .
21 If you still have problems, disconnect the phone. If other phones on the s ame line work properly, t he fault is in this ph one or its installat ion. If you ca nnot find the pr ob- lem, take the phone to yo ur local RadioShack store fo r assistance.
