9 Installation ˆ Installation Note: The base's display is protected during shipment by a piece of film. Carefully peel off this film before using your phone for the first time. MOUNTING THE PHONE You can place the pho ne's base on a desk or table, mount it on a standard wall plate, or mount it directly on a wall.

11 Installation CONNECTING, CHARGING, AND REPLACING THE BATTERY PACK The phone comes with a re chargeable nick- el-cadmium (Ni-Cd) battery pack in the hand- set. Before using your phone, you must connect the battery pack, then charge it for about 24 hours.
