If the total is more than five (three in rural areas), your telephones might not ring. If ringer operation is impaired, remove a device from the line.

Introduction 7 INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing a RadioShack 2.4 GHz Cordless Telephone. Your phone uses advanced technology to give you superior audio quality and extended range.
Installation 8 INSTALLATION Before using your phone, carefully peel the protective film off the display. The film protects the handset window during shipment and is not necessary for use. S ELECTING A L OCATION You can place the phone’s base on a desk or table, or mount it on a standard wall plate or directly on a wall.
Installation 9 On a Desk Top 1. Plug one end of the supplied long modular cord into the TEL LINE jack on the back of the base. 2. Plug the modular cord’ s other end into a modular phone line jack. 3. Inser t the supplied A C adapter’ s barrel plug into the DC IN 9V jack on the bac k of the base.
Installation 10 4. Plug the adapter into a standard A C outlet. 5. Lift the base’ s antenna to a v er tical position. On a Wall To mount the phone directly on a wall, you need two screws (not supplied) with heads that fit into the keyhole slots on the bottom of the base.
Installation 11 C ONNECTING /C HARGING THE B ATTERY P ACK The phone comes with a rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery pack in the handset, but not connected. Before using your phone, you must connect the battery pack, then charge it for about 15–20 hours.
Installation 12 • If the base loses power f or about an hour while the handset is aw ay from it, the security access-protection code might be lost. T o change the code, while holding PA G E , return the handset to the base f or about 3 seconds.
Operation 13 • The supplied batter y pack should last f or about a year . If the batter y pack does not hold a charge f or more than 2 hours after an ov ernight charge, replace it with a new 3.6-v olt, 600 mAh batter y pack with a connector that fi ts the sock et in the batter y compar tment.
Operation 14 A DJUSTING THE H ANDSET R INGER AND E ARPIECE V OLUME Handset ringer tone and volume Press the volume up key or volume down key (labeled as, VO L e or VO L d keys) in standby mode to select one of five ringer tones and volume combinations.
Operation 15 Temporarily Mute Ringer If the handset is off the base, simply press the end key to temporarily mute the incoming ring. The ringer will sound with the next incoming call. R EDIAL The REDIAL/P AUSE key redials the last number dialed. The redialed number can be up to 32 digits long.
Operation 16 S ELECTING A D IFFERENT C HANNEL If you encounter interference while using your phone, you can manually change the phone´s channel for clear operation.
Operation 17 You may need to occasionally reset the indicator if it remains On after you have retrieved your messages. To reset the indicator, press and hold PA G E for 5 second.
Operation 18 A REA C ODE If you enter a 3-digit area code number in the Area Code option, your local area code does not appear in Caller ID messages. Do not program this option, if your calling area requires 10-digit dialing. When reviewing Caller ID messages, you will see only the local seven digit number.

Operation 20 Storing Phone Numbers and Names Memory Dialing allows you to dial a number using just a few key presses. Your cordless telephone stores up to 20 names/numbers in the handset. Ô 1. Operation 21 • If a name is not required, go to step 6. 6. Press MEM or SELECT . ¨ S S S S t t t t o o o o r r r r e e e e N N N N u u u u m m m m b b b b e e e e r r r r ¨ is display ed. The cursor fl ashes indicating that the displa y is ready for the n umber to be entered.
Operation 22 S TEPS FOR E NTERING N AMES AND S PECIAL C HARACTERS Refer to the letters on the number keys to select the desired characters. With each press of a numeric key, the displayed character appears in the following order: Upper case letters first, lower case letters next and finally the number corresponding to the key.
Operation 23 9. Press 3 fi ve times. 10. Press 7 eight times. 11. When fi nished, press MEM or SELECT . To continue to store the telephone number, proceed to step 7 on page 21. If you make a mistake while entering a name Use /tone/ f f f f or #/ g g g g keys to move the cursor to the incorrect character.
Operation 24 3. Press V OL e or V OL d ke ys, or enter a number ( 01 - 20 ) to select the memory location of the desired phone number . The selected name is displa yed. Ô 4. The phone number in the memory will be dialed when the SELECT ke y is pressed.

Operation 27 T ESTING S TORED E MERGENCY N UMBERS If you store an emergency service’s number (police department, fire department, ambulance) and you choose to test the stored number, make the test call during the late evening or early morning hours to avoid peak demand periods.
Operation 28 M AKING C ALLS WITH THE SPEED DIAL When the phone is in the standby mode, simply press SPEED DIAL . The number stored in the SPEED DIAL memory location is instantly dialed. Ô D ELETING THE SPEED DIAL 1. When the phone is in the standby mode, press and hold SPEED DIAL .
Operation 29 W HEN THE T ELEPHONE R INGS 1. When the Caller ID message is received, the displa y shows the caller´s phone number along with the date and time. The incoming call inf or mation is stored in the Caller ID record. If the Caller ID ser vice includes the caller´s name, the caller´s name appears on the displa y (up to 15 letters).
Operation 30 V IEWING THE C ALLER ID M ESSAGE L IST The Caller ID list stores information for up to 30 incoming calls - even unanswered calls. Ô 1. Press CID/MENU . The summar y screen appears. The screen shows the number of ne w messages and total messages.
Operation 31 When the pointer is at ¨ Y Y Y Y e e e e s s s s ¨: A tone sounds and the Caller ID message is deleted. The next Caller ID message is then displa yed. When the pointer is at ¨ N N N N o o o o ¨: The displa y retur ns to the Caller ID message.
Operation 32 Long Distance calls and Area Code Setting/Cancellation Pressing 1 while the incoming Caller ID information is displayed (in step 1) will place the prefix ¨ 1 1 1 1 ¨ in the display to set up for a long distance call. Pressing 3 will set or cancel an area code setting.
Using a Headset 33 USING A HEADSET You can make or answer calls with hands- free convenience using an optional headset that has a 3 / 32 -inch (2.5-mm) plug.
Troubleshooting 34 TROUBLESHOOTING If your phone is not performing to your expectations, please try these simple steps first Problem Solution The CHARGE/IN USE LED won’t illuminate when the handset is placed in the base. • Make sure the A C adapter is plugged into the base and wall outlet.
Care 35 If you still have problems, disconnect the phone. If other phones on the same line work properly, the fault is in this phone or its installation. If you cannot find the problem, take the phone to your local RadioShack store for assistance. CARE Keep the phone dry; if it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
