Keep in mind that the maximum weight capacity includes the combined we ight of the user and any accessories mounted to the wheelchair.

However, Pride recognizes th at there will be times when you will encounter other surface types.
12 www.pridemobility.com Litestream XF II. SAFETY Doors Determine if the door opens toward or away from you. Drive your wheelchair gently and slowly forward to push the door open. Or drive your wheelchair gently and slowly backward to pull the door open.

Anyone traveling in a vehicle should be properly belted into seats approv ed by the vehicle m anufacturer.

WARNING! Avo id putting all of your weight o n the wheelchair armrests and do not use the armrests for weight bearing purposes, such as transfers.

16 www.pridemobility.com Litestream XF III. YOUR WHEELCHAIR USING THE LITESTREAM XF The Litestream XF is a ma nual wheelchair. Either an attendant pushes it, or you move it by gripping the hand-rims (see figure 5) and turning them in the desired direction of travel .

18 www.pridemobility.com Litestream XF Optional Caster Pin Lock If your wheelchair is equippe d with a caster pin lock, you can lock the caster wheels in the forward position to aid in transferring. The caster pin lock should be engaged prior to transfer and disengaged prior to operating the wheelchair.

Litestream XF www.pridemobility.com 23 SCREWS IV. COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS Swing-Away Footrest (SFR) Removal The swing-away footrest s (SFR) can be moved or removed to aid in transfers or trans porting your wheel- chair. To move the SFR to the side: 1. Push the release lever back.

Litestream XF www.pridemobility.com 25 Angle Adjustable Foot Plates The angle adjustable foot plates have two adjustments: angle and depth. The depth can be adjusted to four (4) positions in 1-in. (2.54 cm) increments. If the position of the foot plate adapter is reversed, an additional 0.
26 www.pridemobility.com Litestream XF IV. COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS Drop-in Armrest Removal The drop-in armrests can be removed to aid in trans- fers or transporti ng your wheelchair. To remove the armrest: 1. Squeeze the armrest latch. See figure 32. 2. Pull the armrest up.
Litestream XF www.pridemobility.com 27 Flip-up Armrest Angle Adjustment You can adjust both the la tching and non-latching flip- up armrest angle. To adjust the non-latching flip-up armrest angle: 1. Flip up the armrest. 2. Turn the adjusting screw to raise or lower the front of the armrest.
28 www.pridemobility.com Litestream XF To adjust the dual-p ost armrest height: 1. Rotate the release lever that is locate d on the armrest in either direction. See figure 38. 2. Move the armrest up or dow n to the desired height. 3. The release lever is spring-loaded and will automatically release.
Litestream XF www.pridemobility.com 29 Caster Angle Adjustment When you change th e seat angle, you must also change the caster angle so that the caster barrels remain at a 90° angle to the ground. See figure 40. There are 7 possible angles with a quick-relea se caster and 13 possible angles with a bolt-on caster.
30 www.pridemobility.com Litestream XF IV. COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS Positioning Belt Your wheelchair may be equipped with a positioning belt that can be adjusted for operator comfort. See fig- ure 43. The positioning belt is designed to support the operator so that he/she does not slide down or forward in the seat.
Litestream XF www.pridemobility.com 31 CARE AND MAINTENANCE Your Litestream XF requires routin e maintenance checks. You can perfor m some of these checks, but others require assistance from your Quantum Rehab Provider. Preventive maintenance is very important.
32 www.pridemobility.com Litestream XF V. CARE AND MAINTENANCE Check the handrims. Make sure that they are fastened securely to the wheels. Check the wheel locks. Make sure they work properly. If they don’t, instructions on how to adjust them are provided in this manual.

Use soapy water and dry the seat thoroughly. Wheel Replacement Your wheelchair may be equipped with a tire and tube, tire and flat-free insert, or a solid polyurethane tire.
