3 1. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions. 2. Use the treadmill only as described. 3. Place the treadmill on a level surface, with at least eight feet of clearance behind it and two feet on each side.
4 The decals shown below have been placed on the treadmill. If a decal is missing, or if it is not legible, call toll-free 1-888- 533-1333 and order a free replacement decal. Apply the decal in the location shown. Note: The decals may not be shown at actual size.

ASSEMBL Y M ake sure that the power cord is unplugged. Assembly requires two persons. S et the treadmill in a cleared area and r emov e all pack ing m ater ials . Do n ot di spose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. N ote: The underside of the treadmill walking belt is coated with high-performance lubricant.
7 4. With the help of a second person, carefully tip the treadmill down so that the Base (80) is flat on the floor. Identify the Right Upright (72) and the Right Upright Spacer (74), which are marked with stickers. Insert the Upright Wire (78) through the Right Upright Spacer as shown.
8 5. Hold a Bolt Spacer (3) inside the lower end of t he Right Upright (72). Insert a 3/8" x 4" Bolt (6) with a 3/8" Star Washer (9) into the Right Upright and the Bolt Spacer. Repeat this step with a sec- ond Bolt Spacer (3), 3/8" x 4" Bolt (6), and 3/8" S tar Washer (9).
9 8. Insert the Book Rack (84) into the console as- s embly; it may be helpful to rock the Book Rack up and down as you insert it. Attach the Book Rack with five 3/4" Screws (10); start all five Screws and then tighten them. See step 6. Tighten the two 3/8" x 4" Bolts (6).
10 12. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. If there are sheets of clear plastic on the treadmill decals, remove the plastic .
OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or other substances to the walking b elt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
12 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive and enjoyable. When the manual mode of the console is selected, you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button.
13 H OW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power. If you do not d o this, the console displays or other electrical components may become damaged.
14 Time display —When the manual mode is se- l ected, this display will show the elapsed time. W hen a workout is se- lected, the display will show the time remaining in the workout rather than the elapsed time. Distance/Incline dis- play —This display shows the distance that you have walked or run.
15 H OW TO USE A PRESET WORKOUT I nsert the key into the console. S ee HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 13. S elect a preset workout. To select a preset workout, press the Select Workout button repeatedly.
16 M onitor your progress with the matrix and the d isplays. See step 5 on pages 13 and 14. Measure your heart rate if desired. See step 6 on page 14. W hen you are finished exercising, remove the k ey from the console.
17 THE INFORMATION MODE T he console features an information mode that keeps track of the total distance that the walking belt has m oved and the total number of hours that the treadmill has been used. The information mode also allows you to switch the console from miles to kilometers.
HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE B efore folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If you do not do this, you may damage the treadmill when you fold it. Remove the key and unplug the pow er cord.
19 TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, call the toll-free telephone number l isted on the back cover of this manual.
20 Locate the Reed Switch (64) and the Magnet (42) on the left side of the Pulley (43). Turn the Pulley u ntil the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch. Make sure that the gap between the Magnet and t he Reed Switch is about 1/8". I f necessary, loosen the Reed Switch Screw (12), move the Reed Switch slightly, and then retighten the Screw.
21 PROBLEM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on S OLUTION: a . I f the walking belt is off-center, f irst remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD .
