3 14. Never start the treadmill while you are stand- ing on the walking belt. Always hold the handrails while using the treadmill. 15. The treadmill is capable of high speeds. Adjust the speed in small increments to avoid sudden jumps in speed. 16. The pulse sensor is not a medical device.

5 1. With the help of a second person, carefully raise the treadmill to the upright position. While a second person tips the treadmill to one side slightly and holds it, insert one of the Extension Legs (59) into the Base (32) as shown. Make sure that the Extension Leg is turned so the bracket is on top.

Attach the lower end of the Right Handrail (62) to the right Extension Leg (59) with a Screw (29). Attach the lower end of the Left Handrail (60) in the same way.
7 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT THE PERFORMANT LUBE TM WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with PERFORMANT LUBE TM , a high-performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply silicone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking plat- form.
8 CONSOLE DIAGRAM Clip Key Pulse Sensor Displays LED Track Program Indicators Manual Indicator Incline Display Note: If there is a thin sheet of clear plastic on the face of the console, remove it. STEP-BY-STEP CONSOLE OPERATION The console features a manual mode and four workout programs.
9 Note: There are two twenty-minute programs and two thirty-minute programs. The graphs on the left side of the console show how the speed of the walking belt will change during the programs.
10 ¥ DISTANCE/LAPS displayÑThis display shows the total dis- tance that you have walked and the num- ber of laps you have completed (one lap equals 1/4 mile). The display will alternate between one number and the other every seven seconds. The LAPS indicator will light when the number of laps is shown.
HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If this is not done, the treadmill may be permanently damaged. Next, unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 pounds (20 kg) in order to raise, lower, or move the treadmill.

13 PROBLEM: The walking belt slows when walked on SOLUTION: a. Use only a UL-listed surge protector, rated at 15 amps, with a 14-gauge cord of five feet or less in length. b. If the walking belt is overtightened, treadmill perfor- mance may decrease and the walking belt may be permanently damaged.
14 CONDITIONING GUIDELINES The following guidelines will help you to plan your ex- ercise program. RememberÑthese are general guide- lines only. For more detailed exercise information, ob- tain a reputable book or consult your physician.
15 SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown in the drawings at the right. Move slowly as you stretchÑnever bounce. 1. Toe Touch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible.
